Weekly Rankings: Week 2 Value Meter

Weekly Rankings: Week 2 Value Meter

This article is part of our Weekly Rankings series.

Sunday Morning Update complete with flex rankings - will continue to monitor up to the early kickoffs.

Here are my rankings (if you want a second opinion, please see our formula-based projections - these are not tied into my rankings at all) for the coming week at each position to help you decide your starting lineup. Our rankings are based on the following scoring system: four points for a passing touchdown; six points for a rushing/receiving touchdown; one point for every 20 passing yards; and one point for every 10 rushing/receiving yards. Most importantly, the default rankings are now for PPR leagues.

**** PLEASE READ: Times change, and with them, so do I, even if I go kicking and screaming into the good night. The vast majority of the fantasy football universe plays with some form of PPR -whether it's a full point or 1/2 point. ESPN's default is full-point PPR, Yahoo's is .5 PPR. The DFS games for the vast majority are either half or full point PPR. I'm sympathetic to those of you who would prefer standard rankings, so please, feel free to ask your questions in the comments regarding how a player might change in a standard scoring league. ****

***PLEASE READ, PART II - The masses (ok, the not-so-silent minority) have spoken, and you really want more representation for standard leagues too, so the Flex Rankings are now Standard scoring.***

I will update these during the week, usually twice per week to account for injury or other news during practice. The timing of those updates will vary based on the news at hand and my schedule for the given week. But the first of those updates usually won't happen until Thursday. At any rate, I will post a "last updated" note at the top of the article, or an "update in progress" note if it's while I'm doing it. If there is no such note, that means it's my first pass at the rankings for this current week.

By all means, if you want to discuss a rank, or want me to add a player, chime in on the comments. I try to be receptive to your feedback and try to respond to most comments, though on occasion the volume can be quite thick. This first week in particular, but in other weeks as well, I will change ranks according to injuries and sometimes even a change of heart. Please refer to the rankings first when asking "should I start Player A vs. Player B?". And then refer to the rankings again before asking a generic starting decision question. If you really desire a response to a starting question that doesn't have added complexity, please use our Ask An Expert service - it comes with your subscription. Otherwise, my response will correspond with the rankings. If I rank one player before another, that's how I plan on making my starting decisions.

Quarterback

1.Drew Brees NO vs. Cle
2.*Ben Roethlisberger PIT vs. KC
Note: Nursing a minor elbow injury after Sunday's tie against the Browns. He has a very favorable home matchup against the Chiefs this week. Missed practice Thursday, but the vibe is that he's not a risk to miss time. Josh Dobbs took the first-team snaps. ***Practiced Friday, should play.***
3.Philip Rivers LAC at Buf
4.Jared Goff LA vs. Ari
5.Jimmy Garoppolo SF vs. Det
Note: Three interceptions in a tough road matchup against the Vikings.
6.Deshaun Watson HOU at Ten
Note: Fumbled on the first drive of the game and was pretty sloppy in his first game back.
7.Patrick Mahomes KC at Pit
8.Tom Brady NE at Jax
9.Alex Smith WAS vs. Ind
Note: Very efficient in the road win over the Cardinals.
10.Cam Newton CAR at Atl
Note: Will have to try to get it done without Greg Olsen for an extended period of time.
11.*Andrew Luck IND at Was
Note: Didn't have any issues with his shoulder or arm after the loss to the Bengals.
12.*Aaron Rodgers GB vs. Min
Note: Rodgers' status for Week 2 hasn't yet been determined. He threw for most of his yards and all three of his touchdowns in the second half despite coming back with an injured left knee. Hasn't yet practiced this week, and the decision whether to start him isn't going to be easy, according to coach Mike McCarthy. ***Worked out Saturday, showing progress, but still not guaranteed to play. A true game-time decision.***
13.Russell Wilson SEA at Chi
Note: Sacked six times in the loss to the Broncos. He frequently made things worse with his scrambling, rather than getting rid of the ball, losing 57 yards in the course of those six sacks.
14.*Nick Foles PHI at TB
Note: Officially named the starter again for Week 2.
15.Kirk Cousins MIN at GB
16.*Matthew Stafford DET at SF
Note: Stafford's hideous results started before he took the cleat to his leg in the second quarter. Judging by the Jets comments afterward, it appeared that the Lions were doing a poor job of disguising their plays.
17.Case Keenum DEN vs. Oak
18.Joe Flacco BAL at Cin
19.Blake Bortles JAC vs. NE
20.Andy Dalton CIN vs. Bal
21.*Tyrod Taylor CLE at NO
Note: ***Suddenly won't have Josh Gordon available for this game or any other game.***
22.Ryan Fitzpatrick TB vs. Phi
23.Eli Manning NYG at Dal
24.Sam Darnold NYJ vs. Mia
25.Mitchell Trubisky CHI vs. Sea
Note: Was unable to get much going downfield on Sunday night, and almost nothing to his left side.
26.*Dak Prescott DAL vs. NYG
Note: Sustained an ankle injury late in the loss to the Panthers, but he's still taking all the first-team reps in practice.
27.Derek Carr OAK at Den
Note: A couple of ugly interceptions late Monday night highlighted his struggles in the second half. Had general soreness after the Monday game, but he's not listed on the injury report for this week.
28.Ryan Tannehill MIA at NYJ
29.Matt Ryan ATL vs. Car
30.Sam Bradford ARZ at LAR
Note: Averaged only 4.5 yards per attempt in the loss to the Redskins.
31.*Blaine Gabbert TEN vs. Hou
Note: ***Could share snaps with Mariota or maybe even start. Taking the first-team snaps in warmups.***
32.*Josh Allen BUF vs. LAC
Note: It's possible that Allen will be named the starter as early as this week. Named the starter for this week.
33.*Marcus Mariota TEN vs. Hou
Note: Left with an elbow injury, following back-to-back interceptions. After the game he acknowledged that he lost some feeling in his fingers and throwing hand. Blaine Gabbert is the backup. Full practice Wednesday, but limited practice Thursday. ***As of Saturday, Mariota still couldn't grip the ball normally. This seems fine. Why would you want to be able to grip the ball, if you're a quarterback?***
34.*DeShone Kizer GB vs. Min
Note: There's a reasonable chance that Kizer will see action again this week, again against a tough opponent.
35.*Lamar Jackson BAL at Cin
Note: Jackson was on the field in the first half in some two-QB sets, a wrinkle that is likely to continue Thursday against the Bengals.
36.*Matt Cassel DET at SF
37.*Nathan Peterman BUF vs. LAC
Note: Got pulled in the third quarter against the Ravens and isn't guaranteed to start. Benched in favor of Josh Allen.
38.*Carson Wentz PHI at TB
Note: Not officially ruled out for Week 2, but Week 3 is much more likely. Nick Foles will start again this week.

Running Backs

1.Todd Gurley LA vs. Ari
Note: Got a rest day Wednesday, but there's no reported injury here.
2.Alvin Kamara NO vs. Cle
Note: Only eight carries, but two of them were for short touchdowns, and he had 12 targets. Had the game flow been different, he wouldn't have had as many targets, but would have he run more?
3.Kareem Hunt KC at Pit
Note: I'm not as worried as many about the Week 1 dud. First of all the game flow was crazy - the Chiefs scored on a punt return and a long pass on their first two drives. The Chiefs ran only 54 offensive plays, and he got 16 carries on those plays. I'm concerned about losing out on short TDs, for sure, but he'll get many of those in the future, and I'm more excited that the offense looks strong.
4.Melvin Gordon LAC at Buf
5.Christian McCaffrey CAR at Atl
Note: He should get more targets in the passing game with Greg Olsen out - but the down side is that he lost a fumble near the goal line, then subsequently saw Cam Newton and Alex Armah score on short runs. And yet, this is a good matchup against ATL, with Deion Jones and Keanu Neal out.
6.Ezekiel Elliott DAL vs. NYG
7.Saquon Barkley NYG at Dal
8.James Conner PIT vs. KC
9.*David Johnson ARZ at LAR
Note: Really got dragged down by the overall ineptitude of the offense. Limited in practice with a back injury. ***Removed from the injury list and cleared to play.***
10.Joe Mixon CIN vs. Bal
11.Jay Ajayi PHI at TB
12.Jordan Howard CHI vs. Sea
13.Dalvin Cook MIN at GB
Note: Cook received 80 percent of the snaps in Week 1, but Latavius Murray was used as the 'closer' - getting most of the fourth quarter snaps.
14.*Tevin Coleman ATL vs. Car
Note: I'm now proceeding as if Freeman won't play and Coleman will start, with Ito Smith backing him up. ***Freeman officially out for 2-to-3 weeks.***
15.Alex Collins BAL at Cin
16.Royce Freeman DEN vs. Oak
17.Dion Lewis TEN vs. Hou
18.Adrian Peterson WAS vs. Ind
Note: Plenty of volume means that it doesn't matter that he averaged only 3.7 yards per carry against Arizona.
19.Lamar Miller HOU at Ten
Note: Big concern - lost the goal line carries to Alfred Blue.
20.*T.J. Yeldon JAC vs. NE
Note: In line for a bigger role if Fournette has to sit out this week. ***Fournette didn't practice all week, but is a game-time decision, so Yeldon remains in limbo.***
21.LeSean McCoy BUF vs. LAC
22.Chris Thompson WAS vs. Ind
23.Kenyan Drake MIA at NYJ
Note: The Dolphins frequently ran two backs in the game at the same time, and as a consequence Drake lost a few carries to Frank Gore.
24.Isaiah Crowell NYJ vs. Mia
25.Carlos Hyde CLE at NO
26.Peyton Barber TB vs. Phi
Note: Good job security with Ronald Jones II a healthy scratch.
27.James White NE at Jax
Note: Split stats with Rex Burkhead (36 for White, 37 for Burkhead) in Week 1, could get more work this week if Sony Michel remains inactive due to injury now that Jeremy Hill is out for the year. And now Burkhead is on the injury report with a concussion.
28.Jamaal Williams GB vs. Min
29.Derrick Henry TEN vs. Hou
Note: Game flow worked against Henry last week, as did a questionable holding call against Delanie Walker that canceled out a big touchdown run by Henry. It's still disturbing that Dion Lewis outsnapped Henry on a 2:1 basis.
30.Theo Riddick DET at SF
Note: Led the Lions' backs in touches on Monday night ... with nine.
31.Chris Carson SEA at Chi
32.Tarik Cohen CHI vs. Sea
33.*Marshawn Lynch OAK at Den
Note: Lynch dealt with a 'bout of sickness' in Monday night's opener, limiting him to only 11 carries. Limited practice Wednesday due to a shoulder injury.
34.Duke Johnson CLE at NO
35.Phillip Lindsay DEN vs. Oak
Note: Big debut for the undrafted rookie - getting 15 carries and two receptions, including a touchdown.
36.Nyheim Hines IND at Was
Note: Hines had seven catches on nine targets in the season-opening loss to the Bengals.
37.Kerryon Johnson DET at SF
38.Matt Breida SF vs. Det
39.Austin Ekeler LAC at Buf
40.Jordan Wilkins IND at Was
41.*Leonard Fournette JAC vs. NE
Note: Day-to-day with a hamstring injury. I'm going to put him near the bottom of the rankings for now, but should he practice fully at some point this week, he'll go back up to the top 10. Didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday, but was running on the side and 'likes his chances' of playing Sunday. It'll be a game-time decision. Keep in mind that this game goes off at 4:25 ET, so you'd better have a late pivot available if you plan to take the decision down to the wire. ***Still didn't practice Friday, and now will be a game-time decision. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Jaguars view him as unlikely to play - unfortunately, this wasn't with anyone on the record.***
42.Jalen Richard OAK at Den
43.Bilal Powell NYJ vs. Mia
44.Alfred Morris SF vs. Det
Note: Split the carries nearly evenly with Matt Breida, and fumbled twice in the red zone, losing the second fumble.
45.Frank Gore MIA at NYJ
46.*Corey Clement PHI at TB
Note: ***Role could increase on third downs with Sproles out.***
47.Latavius Murray MIN at GB
48.*Sony Michel NE at Jax
Note: (Knee) Could be active this week, and his role could be increased with Jeremy Hill out for the season. Preparing to play this week, and now Burkhead might not be able to go. Still, he was only limited at Thursday's practice. ***Officially listed as questionable after limited practices all week.***
49.Ty Montgomery GB vs. Min
50.Giovani Bernard CIN vs. Bal
Note: Surprisingly had only two touches in Week 1. Mixon looked good in all aspects - including the passing game, so that third down role looks less certain now.
51.Doug Martin OAK at Den
52.Rashaad Penny SEA at Chi
Note: Looked slow in Week 1.
53.Jacquizz Rodgers TB vs. Phi
54.Javorius Allen BAL at Cin
55.Marcus Murphy BUF vs. LAC
56.Corey Grant JAC vs. NE
57.C.J. Anderson CAR at Atl
58.*Ito Smith ATL vs. Car
Note: ***Will be the backup to Tevin Coleman with Devonta Freeman out.***
59.*LeGarrette Blount DET at SF
Note: Appeared to hyper-extend his left knee in Monday night's loss. Full participant in practice Thursday. ***Popped back up on the injury report with a sore shoulder, but is still slated to play.***
60.*Marlon Mack IND at Was
Note: (Hamstring) Limited practice Wednesday and Thursday. Even if he plays, I'd recommend waiting a week before using him, if for no other reason than to get a read on the Colts' intentions. ***Full practice Friday - still listed as questionable, but it's looking more likely that he'll at least play a little.***
61.Chase Edmonds ARZ at LAR
62.*Wayne Gallman NYG at Dal
Note: Sprained his knee against the Jaguars, but expects to be available this week. ***Cleared to play.***
63.*Devontae Booker DEN vs. Oak
Note: Clearly third string in Denver.
64.Nick Chubb CLE at NO
65.Mike Gillislee NO vs. Cle
Note: Gillislee's lost fumble was a huge play in the loss to the Bucs.
66.Spencer Ware KC at Pit
67.C.J. Prosise SEA at Chi
68.Rob Kelley WAS vs. Ind
69.*Malcolm Brown LA vs. Ari
Note: Looks to have the backup job behind Gurley, over John Kelly.
70.*Chris Ivory BUF vs. LAC
Note: Seems to be behind Marcus Murphy in the pecking order, at least when McCoy is healthy.
71.Christine Michael IND at Was
Note: Only three snaps in the opener.
72.Jonathan Williams NO vs. Cle
73.Jonathan Stewart NYG at Dal
74.*Rex Burkhead NE at Jax
Note: Popped up on the injury report Wednesday with a concussion and was very limited at Thursday's practice. ***Limited practice Friday again, has traveled with the team and is listed as questionable. He could come down to a game-time decision.***
75.Jaylen Samuels PIT vs. KC
Note: No snaps even with Bell not present.
76.*Ronald Jones II TB vs. Phi
77.*Devonta Freeman ATL vs. Car
Note: Suffered a knee injury in the Thursday night opener - it's not expected to be serious. Ok, maybe it's a little more serious than initially reported. Didn't practice Wednesday or Thursday - this ranking now implies he won't play. ***Officially ruled out, and will be out 2-to-3 weeks.***
78.*Darren Sproles PHI at TB
Note: (Hamstring) Missed practice Thursday after a limited practice on Wednesday. ***Declared out for this week.***
79.*Le'Veon Bell PIT vs. KC
Note: Removed from the Steelers' depth chart in advance of Week 2.
80.Mark Ingram NO vs. Cle
81.Aaron Jones GB vs. Min
82.*Kenneth Dixon BAL at Cin
Note: Came down with a knee injury late Sunday, did not practice Monday. Placed on IR by the Ravens.
83.*Jeremy Hill NE at Jax
Note: Torn ACL, out for the season.

Wide Receivers

1.Antonio Brown PIT vs. KC
2.Michael Thomas NO vs. Cle
3.Odell Beckham NYG at Dal
4.*DeAndre Hopkins HOU at Ten
Note: (Foot) Limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but there's been no suggestion that Hopkins won't go on Sunday. ***Officially questionable, but expected to play.***
5.Keenan Allen LAC at Buf
6.Julio Jones ATL vs. Car
7.Tyreek Hill KC at Pit
8.A.J. Green CIN vs. Bal
9.Adam Thielen MIN at GB
10.Jarvis Landry CLE at NO
11.T.Y. Hilton IND at Was
12.Stefon Diggs MIN at GB
13.Mike Evans TB vs. Phi
14.JuJu Smith-Schuster PIT vs. KC
15.Golden Tate DET at SF
16.Emmanuel Sanders DEN vs. Oak
17.*Davante Adams GB vs. Min
Note: (Shoulder) Returned to a limited practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday - he felt great afterward. But there's also a decent chance that Rodgers doesn't play this week, which obviously would hurt Adams' value. ***Limited practice again Friday, and is officially questionable, though both he and the Packers sounded optimistic about his availability for Sunday.***
18.Brandin Cooks LA vs. Ari
19.Kenny Stills MIA at NYJ
20.Nelson Agholor PHI at TB
21.Demaryius Thomas DEN vs. Oak
22.Marvin Jones DET at SF
23.Robert Woods LA vs. Ari
Note: Only three catches in Week 1, but was targeted nine time.
24.Michael Crabtree BAL at Cin
25.Allen Robinson CHI vs. Sea
26.Larry Fitzgerald ARZ at LAR
27.Robby Anderson NYJ vs. Mia
28.Cooper Kupp LA vs. Ari
29.Kenny Golladay DET at SF
30.Quincy Enunwa NYJ vs. Mia
Note: Strong opener - frequently appeared to be Darnold's first read.
31.Keelan Cole JAC vs. NE
32.Amari Cooper OAK at Den
Note: Held to just one catch for nine yards on three targets on Monday night.
33.*Mike Williams LAC at Buf
Note: ***Could get more work if Travis Benjamin can't go.***
34.*Corey Davis TEN vs. Hou
Note: Huge volume in Week 1, even though it didn't fully translate into great results. (Hamstring) Limited Wednesday, but full go Thursday and downplayed the concern. ***Should be good to go, but downgraded anyways because the QB situation is a big mess.***
35.Chris Hogan NE at Jax
36.Jamison Crowder WAS vs. Ind
37.Tyler Lockett SEA at Chi
38.Cole Beasley DAL vs. NYG
39.Pierre Garcon SF vs. Det
40.Devin Funchess CAR at Atl
41.Kelvin Benjamin BUF vs. LAC
42.Chris Godwin TB vs. Phi
Note: Four targets, but was on the field for 46 snaps.
43.Brandon Marshall SEA at Chi
44.Randall Cobb GB vs. Min
45.*Dante Pettis SF vs. Det
Note: Stepped up following Marquise Goodwin's thigh injury, scoring on an acrobatic play. Marquise Goodwin hasn't practiced yet this week - moving him up. ***Will start with Goodwin officially declared out.***
46.*DeSean Jackson TB vs. Phi
Note: In the concussion protocol. Limited to individual drills Thursday, but is making good progress in his recovery. ***Cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to play.***
47.Sammy Watkins KC at Pit
48.*Rishard Matthews TEN vs. Hou
Note: Not targeted, saw 36 snaps in the season opener. That said, he should get more looks this week and going forward, with Delanie Walker out.
49.*Sterling Shepard NYG at Dal
Note: (Back) Full practice Thursday.
50.*Ted Ginn NO vs. Cle
Note: (Knee) Sat out practice Wednesday, was limited Thursday. ***Removed from the injury list.***
51.Phillip Dorsett NE at Jax
52.Ryan Grant IND at Was
Note: Frequent target of Andrew Luck, but almost all underneath. At his peak, Grant could be Jarvis Landry Lite.
53.*Will Fuller HOU at Ten
Note: (Hamstring) Could return this week - I'll bump him up on Thursday if he practices early on this week. Still limited in practice - still need to see a full practice before giving him a bump. ***Listed as questionable but expected to play.***
54.Geronimo Allison GB vs. Min
55.Josh Doctson WAS vs. Ind
Note: Only three targets, with just one catch. The game flow should be a little different against the Colts this week, however.
56.John Ross CIN vs. Bal
57.*D.J. Moore CAR at Atl
Note: Not targeted against the Cowboys in his debut.
58.Bruce Ellington HOU at Ten
59.Anthony Miller CHI vs. Sea
60.Danny Amendola MIA at NYJ
61.Trent Taylor SF vs. Det
62.Mohamed Sanu ATL vs. Car
63.Jordy Nelson OAK at Den
64.Allen Hurns DAL vs. NYG
65.Michael Gallup DAL vs. NYG
Note: One catch on his only target in the loss to the Panthers.
66.Courtland Sutton DEN vs. Oak

68.Donte Moncrief JAC vs. NE
69.Tyrell Williams LAC at Buf
70.Willie Snead BAL at Cin
71.Albert Wilson MIA at NYJ
72.*Taylor Gabriel CHI vs. Sea
Note: Was the clear #2 wideout against the Packers, catching five passes on five targets.
73.John Brown BAL at Cin
74.Calvin Ridley ATL vs. Car
Note: Played 45 snaps last week but was targeted just twice. Every week is Sark Week.
75.Dede Westbrook JAC vs. NE
76.Paul Richardson WAS vs. Ind
Note: Six targets, but all of them pretty short. ***Listed as questionable with a shoulder injury, game-time decision.***
77.Taywan Taylor TEN vs. Hou
Note: Played only nine snaps last week, but coach Mike Vrabel said that they need to get him more involved going forward.
78.Christian Kirk ARZ at LAR
79.Rashard Higgins CLE at NO
80.James Washington PIT vs. KC
81.Austin Carr NO vs. Cle
82.Mike Wallace PHI at TB
83.Chad Williams ARZ at LAR
84.Tyler Boyd CIN vs. Bal
85.*Jermaine Kearse NYJ vs. Mia
Note: (Abdominal injury) Practiced fully on Thursday, but status for this week remains unclear. ***Officially cleared to play.***
86.*Tre'Quan Smith NO vs. Cle
Note: Played just 12 snaps, was not targeted in the loss to the Bucs.
87.Jakeem Grant MIA at NYJ
88.Zay Jones BUF vs. LAC
Note: Good news! Led the Bills in catches and yards. Bad news - it was three catches for 26 yards.
89.*Jaron Brown SEA at Chi
Note: If Baldwin is out, he'll be the Seahawks' third receiver.
90.*Martavis Bryant OAK at Den
Note: Re-signed by the Raiders on Tuesday.
91.*Corey Coleman NE at Jax
Note: Signed with the Pats after being cut by the Bills last week.
92.*DeVante Parker MIA at NYJ
Note: (Finger) Expected to practice this week. Full practice Wednesday and Thursday, feels ready to play. ***Full participant again Friday - listed as questionable but expected to go. INACTIVE***
93.*Justin Hunter PIT vs. KC
Note: Ahead of James Washington in the pecking order. ***Inactive - coach's decision.***
94.*Cameron Meredith NO vs. Cle
Note: A surprise inactive for Week 1. ***Inactive again.***
95.*Marquise Goodwin SF vs. Det
Note: Diagnosed with a deep thigh bruise after taking a knee to his quad last week and is day-to-day. No practice Wednesday or Thursday - I'm increasingly pessimistic. ***Officially declared out this week.***
96.*Alshon Jeffery PHI at TB
Note: (Shoulder) Taking part in individual drills during practice. ***Not yet cleared for contact, won't play this week.***
97.*Josh Gordon CLE at NO
Note: Listed as a starter this week after being on the second string of the depth chart last week. Did nothing all game last week until scoring on a highlight reel catch late in the game. ***Just when you think it can't get weirder, it does. Gordon injured his hamstring in a promotional shoot and was declared out for this week, and then the Browns announced that they are parting ways with him next week.***
98.*Doug Baldwin SEA at Chi
Note: Diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his right knee. We're still waiting for an official prognosis, but I've heard the range of his potential absence to be from two-to-six weeks.
99.Julian Edelman NE at Jax

Tight Ends

1.Rob Gronkowski NE at Jax
2.Travis Kelce KC at Pit
Note: Targeted six times, but walked away with just one catch.
3.Jordan Reed WAS vs. Ind
4.Zach Ertz PHI at TB
5.Jack Doyle IND at Was
Note: Heavy volume, but a costly fumble to salt away the loss.
6.Jared Cook OAK at Den
Note: Monster volume against the Rams, who were a little weak at linebacker on Monday night. That won't repeat, but it doesn't change the fact that the Raiders are lacking targets that Carr trusts - Cook should still get six-to-seven targets per game going forward. Moreover, this week's opponent, Denver, really struggled against Will Dissly last week.
7.Jimmy Graham GB vs. Min
8.George Kittle SF vs. Det
9.Kyle Rudolph MIN at GB
10.Evan Engram NYG at Dal
11.Trey Burton CHI vs. Sea
12.*Austin Hooper ATL vs. Car
Note: (Knee) Full practice Thursday.
13.O.J. Howard TB vs. Phi
14.Tyler Eifert CIN vs. Bal
15.Ricky Seals-Jones ARZ at LAR
Note: Saw 49 of the Cardinals' 53 snaps.
16.*Will Dissly SEA at Chi
Note: Surprise top tight end option for the Seahawks in Week 1 and now atop the depth chart. With Doug Baldwin out, that could mean more targets for the tight ends.
17.Eric Ebron IND at Was
Note: Both Colts tight ends were heavily targeted in Week 1, with Ebron hitting pay dirt.
18.Ben Watson NO vs. Cle
19.David Njoku CLE at NO
20.*Jonnu Smith TEN vs. Hou
Note: In for Delanie Walker, who is out for the season with his ankle injury.
21.*Austin Seferian-Jenkins JAC vs. NE
Note: (Core muscle injury) Limited at Wednesday's practice, but expected to play much as he did last week. ***Removed from the injury list, expected to play Sunday.***
22.Jesse James PIT vs. KC
23.Mike Gesicki MIA at NYJ
Note: Just two targets and 21 offensive snaps in the opener.
24.Cameron Brate TB vs. Phi
25.Charles Clay BUF vs. LAC
26.*Ian Thomas CAR at Atl
Note: A rookie fourth-rounder out of Indiana, now expected to replace Greg Olsen in the starting lineup.
27.Ryan Griffin HOU at Ten
28.Vernon Davis WAS vs. Ind
29.Tyler Kroft CIN vs. Bal
Note: Barely on the field with Tyler Eifert healthy.
30.Antonio Gates LAC at Buf
31.Dallas Goedert PHI at TB
32.*Nick Vannett SEA at Chi
Note: Moved behind Dissly on the depth chart.
33.Mark Andrews BAL at Cin
34.*Vance McDonald PIT vs. KC
Note: (Foot) Full participant in Wednesday's practice. ***Full practice all week, yet still listed as questionable.***
35.Garrett Celek SF vs. Det
36.Jake Butt DEN vs. Oak
37.*Luke Stocker TEN vs. Hou
Note: *** (Calf) Limited in practice Friday.***
38.Tyler Higbee LA vs. Ari
Note: It appears that the tight end branch of the Rams' tree is barren - no targets against the Raiders.
39.Nick Boyle BAL at Cin
40.Virgil Green LAC at Buf
41.Luke Willson DET at SF
42.*Seth DeValve CLE at NO
Note: ***(Hamstring) Ruled out this week.***
43.*Hayden Hurst BAL at Cin
Note: (Foot) Not yet practicing, almost certainly won't play Thursday night. Ruled out again this week.
44.*Greg Olsen CAR at Atl
Note: Fractured foot, out on a month-to-month basis. ***Hoping to return in four-to-five weeks, but this is the same fractured foot as last year.***
45.*Delanie Walker TEN vs. Hou
Note: Broken ankle plus ligament damage - already placed on IR by the Titans.

Flex (RB/WR/TE)

1.Todd Gurley LA vs. Ari
Note: Got a rest day Wednesday, but there's no reported injury here.
2.Antonio Brown PIT vs. KC
3.Alvin Kamara NO vs. Cle
Note: Only eight carries, but two of them were for short touchdowns, and he had 12 targets. Had the game flow been different, he wouldn't have had as many targets, but would have he run more?
4.Michael Thomas NO vs. Cle
5.Kareem Hunt KC at Pit
Note: I'm not as worried as many about the Week 1 dud. First of all the game flow was crazy - the Chiefs scored on a punt return and a long pass on their first two drives. The Chiefs ran only 54 offensive plays, and he got 16 carries on those plays. I'm concerned about losing out on short TDs, for sure, but he'll get many of those in the future, and I'm more excited that the offense looks strong.
6.*David Johnson ARZ at LAR
Note: Really got dragged down by the overall ineptitude of the offense. Limited in practice with a back injury. ***Removed from the injury list and cleared to play.***
7.Melvin Gordon LAC at Buf
8.Odell Beckham NYG at Dal
9.*DeAndre Hopkins HOU at Ten
Note: (Foot) Limited at practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but there's been no suggestion that Hopkins won't go on Sunday. ***Officially questionable, but expected to play.***
10.Ezekiel Elliott DAL vs. NYG
11.Saquon Barkley NYG at Dal
12.Julio Jones ATL vs. Car
13.Tyreek Hill KC at Pit
14.Keenan Allen LAC at Buf
15.Rob Gronkowski NE at Jax
16.Joe Mixon CIN vs. Bal
17.Jay Ajayi PHI at TB
18.A.J. Green CIN vs. Bal
19.Adam Thielen MIN at GB
20.Christian McCaffrey CAR at Atl
Note: He should get more targets in the passing game with Greg Olsen out - but the down side is that he lost a fumble near the goal line, then subsequently saw Cam Newton and Alex Armah score on short runs. And yet, this is a good matchup against ATL, with Deion Jones and Keanu Neal out.
21.James Conner PIT vs. KC
22.Jordan Howard CHI vs. Sea
23.Dalvin Cook MIN at GB
Note: Cook received 80 percent of the snaps in Week 1, but Latavius Murray was used as the 'closer' - getting most of the fourth quarter snaps.
24.*Tevin Coleman ATL vs. Car
Note: I'm now proceeding as if Freeman won't play and Coleman will start, with Ito Smith backing him up. ***Freeman officially out for 2-to-3 weeks.***
25.T.Y. Hilton IND at Was
26.Stefon Diggs MIN at GB
27.Mike Evans TB vs. Phi
28.Jarvis Landry CLE at NO
29.JuJu Smith-Schuster PIT vs. KC
30.Alex Collins BAL at Cin
31.Travis Kelce KC at Pit
Note: Targeted six times, but walked away with just one catch.
32.Adrian Peterson WAS vs. Ind
Note: Plenty of volume means that it doesn't matter that he averaged only 3.7 yards per carry against Arizona.
33.Lamar Miller HOU at Ten
Note: Big concern - lost the goal line carries to Alfred Blue.
34.Royce Freeman DEN vs. Oak
35.LeSean McCoy BUF vs. LAC
36.Brandin Cooks LA vs. Ari
37.Kenny Stills MIA at NYJ
38.Dion Lewis TEN vs. Hou
39.*T.J. Yeldon JAC vs. NE
Note: In line for a bigger role if Fournette has to sit out this week. ***Fournette didn't practice all week, but is a game-time decision, so Yeldon remains in limbo.***
40.Golden Tate DET at SF
41.Emmanuel Sanders DEN vs. Oak
42.*Davante Adams GB vs.
43.Kenny Golladay DET at SF
44.Demaryius Thomas DEN vs. Oak
45.Marvin Jones DET at SF
46.Michael Crabtree BAL at Cin
47.Chris Thompson WAS vs. Ind
48.Kenyan Drake MIA at NYJ
Note: The Dolphins frequently ran two backs in the game at the same time, and as a consequence Drake lost a few carries to Frank Gore.
49.Isaiah Crowell NYJ vs. Mia
50.Carlos Hyde CLE at NO
51.Nelson Agholor PHI at TB
52.Jordan Reed WAS vs. Ind
53.Zach Ertz PHI at TB
54.Robert Woods LA vs. Ari
Note: Only three catches in Week 1, but was targeted nine time.
55.Allen Robinson CHI vs. Sea
56.Larry Fitzgerald ARZ at LAR
57.Robby Anderson NYJ vs. Mia
58.Peyton Barber TB vs. Phi
Note: Good job security with Ronald Jones II a healthy scratch.
59.Jamaal Williams GB vs. Min
60.Derrick Henry TEN vs. Hou
Note: Game flow worked against Henry last week, as did a questionable holding call against Delanie Walker that canceled out a big touchdown run by Henry. It's still disturbing that Dion Lewis outsnapped Henry on a 2:1 basis.
61.Chris Carson SEA at Chi
62.*Marshawn Lynch OAK at Den
Note: Lynch dealt with a 'bout of sickness' in Monday night's opener, limiting him to only 11 carries. Limited practice Wednesday due to a shoulder injury.
63.Cooper Kupp LA vs. Ari
64.Quincy Enunwa NYJ vs. Mia
Note: Strong opener - frequently appeared to be Darnold's first read.
65.Keelan Cole JAC vs. NE
66.Amari Cooper OAK at Den
Note: Held to just one catch for nine yards on three targets on Monday night.
67.*Mike Williams LAC at Buf
Note: ***Could get more work if Travis Benjamin can't go.***
68.Chris Hogan NE at Jax
69.Jamison Crowder WAS vs. Ind
70.Tyler Lockett SEA at Chi
71.*Corey Davis TEN vs. Hou
Note: Huge volume in Week 1, even though it didn't fully translate into great results. (Hamstring) Limited Wednesday, but full go Thursday and downplayed the concern. ***Should be good to go, but downgraded anyways because the QB situation is a big mess.***
72.Kerryon Johnson DET at SF
73.Theo Riddick DET at SF
Note: Led the Lions' backs in touches on Monday night ... with nine.
74.Tarik Cohen CHI vs. Sea
75.*Leonard Fournette JAC vs.
76.Bilal Powell NYJ vs. Mia
77.Alfred Morris SF vs. Det
Note: Split the carries nearly evenly with Matt Breida, and fumbled twice in the red zone, losing the second fumble.
78.Duke Johnson CLE at NO
79.Phillip Lindsay DEN vs. Oak
Note: Big debut for the undrafted rookie - getting 15 carries and two receptions, including a touchdown.
80.Nyheim Hines IND at Was
Note: Hines had seven catches on nine targets in the season-opening loss to the Bengals.
81.Matt Breida SF vs. Det
82.Jack Doyle IND at Was
Note: Heavy volume, but a costly fumble to salt away the loss.
83.Jared Cook OAK at Den
Note: Monster volume against the Rams, who were a little weak at linebacker on Monday night. That won't repeat, but it doesn't change the fact that the Raiders are lacking targets that Carr trusts - Cook should still get six-to-seven targets per game going forward. Moreover, this week's opponent, Denver, really struggled against Will Dissly last week.
84.Jimmy Graham GB vs. Min
85.Cole Beasley DAL vs. NYG
86.Pierre Garcon SF vs. Det
87.Devin Funchess CAR at Atl
88.Kelvin Benjamin BUF vs. LAC
89.Chris Godwin TB vs. Phi
Note: Four targets, but was on the field for 46 snaps.
90.Brandon Marshall SEA at Chi
91.Randall Cobb GB vs. Min
92.*Dante Pettis SF vs. Det
Note: Stepped up following Marquise Goodwin's thigh injury, scoring on an acrobatic play. Marquise Goodwin hasn't practiced yet this week - moving him up. ***Will start with Goodwin officially declared out.***
93.Austin Ekeler LAC at Buf
94.Jordan Wilkins IND at Was
95.*DeSean Jackson TB vs. Phi
Note: In the concussion protocol. Limited to individual drills Thursday, but is making good progress in his recovery. ***Cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to play.***
96.Sammy Watkins KC at Pit
97.*Rishard Matthews TEN vs. Hou
Note: Not targeted, saw 36 snaps in the season opener. That said, he should get more looks this week and going forward, with Delanie Walker out.
98.*Sterling Shepard NYG at Dal
Note: (Back) Full practice Thursday.
99.*Ted Ginn NO vs. Cle
Note: (Knee) Sat out practice Wednesday, was limited Thursday. ***Removed from the injury list.***
100.Phillip Dorsett NE at Jax
101.Ryan Grant IND at Was
Note: Frequent target of Andrew Luck, but almost all underneath. At his peak, Grant could be Jarvis Landry Lite.
102.*Will Fuller HOU at Ten
Note: (Hamstring) Could return this week - I'll bump him up on Thursday if he practices early on this week. Still limited in practice - still need to see a full practice before giving him a bump. ***Listed as questionable but expected to play.***
103.Geronimo Allison GB vs. Min
104.Frank Gore MIA at NYJ
105.*Corey Clement PHI at TB
Note: ***Role could increase on third downs with Sproles out.***
106.Latavius Murray MIN at GB
107.George Kittle SF vs. Det
108.Kyle Rudolph MIN at GB
109.Evan Engram NYG at Dal
110.Josh Doctson WAS vs. Ind
Note: Only three targets, with just one catch. The game flow should be a little different against the Colts this week, however.
111.*Sony Michel NE at Jax
Note: (Knee) Could be active this week, and his role could be increased with Jeremy Hill out for the season. Preparing to play this week, and now Burkhead might not be able to go. Still, he was only limited at Thursday's practice. ***Officially listed as questionable after limited practices all week.***
112.Ty Montgomery GB vs. Min

3.Harrison Butker KC at Pit
4.Wil Lutz NO vs. Cle

Note: Missed from 42 yards out in overtime - albeit in lousy conditions.
8.Brandon McManus DEN vs. Oak
9.Robbie Gould SF vs. Det
10.Graham Gano CAR at Atl
11.Matt Prater DET at SF
Note: Missed twice on Monday night to add to the Lions' misery - one from 44 yards, the other from 55.
12.Matt Bryant ATL vs. Car
13.Mason Crosby GB vs. Min
14.Josh Lambo JAC vs. NE
15.Caleb Sturgis LAC at Buf
Note: Missed a 48-yard attempt late that would have got the Chargers to within seven points, essentially finishing off the game. Made two other attempts earlier.
16.Ryan Succop TEN vs. Hou
17.Sebastian Janikowski SEA at Chi
Note: Missed a 46-yarder, which ended up as the margin of defeat.
18.Adam Vinatieri IND at Was
19.Daniel Carlson MIN at GB
20.Dustin Hopkins WAS vs. Ind
21.Ka'imi Fairbairn HOU at Ten
22.Chandler Catanzaro TB vs. Phi
23.Mike Nugent OAK at Den

25.Randy Bullock CIN vs. Bal
26.Zane Gonzalez CLE at NO
Note: Had a potential game-winner blocked at the end of overtime.
27.Jason Myers NYJ vs. Mia
28.Cody Parkey CHI vs. Sea
29.Jason Sanders MIA at NYJ
30.Stephen Hauschka BUF vs. LAC
31.Brett Maher DAL vs. NYG
Note: Missed a 47-yard attempt in the loss to Carolina, his only action of the day.
32.Phil Dawson ARZ at LAR

Defenses

1.*Los Angeles Rams vs. Ari
Note: Didn't have Mark Barron (ankle), which hurt their coverage against tight ends.
2.*Chicago Bears vs. Sea
Note: Russell Wilson was sacked six times in Denver. It could get worse against Khalil Mack and company.
3.*Minnesota Vikings at GB
Note: Bumped up to consider the possibility that Rodgers won't play.
4.Denver Broncos vs. Oak
5.*Los Angeles Chargers at Buf
Note: Joey Bosa (foot) ruled out again this week.
6.*Jacksonville Jaguars vs. NE
Note: Dante Fowler Jr. was reinstated following a one-game suspension. Telvin Smith (back) has been limited in practice this week. ***Calais Campbell is questionable with knee soreness.***
7.*New York Giants at Dal
Note: Olivier Veron (ankle) could return to practice this week.
8.Philadelphia Eagles at TB
9.*Cincinnati Bengals vs. Bal
Note: Preston Brown injured his ankle in the first half in Week 1 and is uncertain for Thursday night. Brown is inactive. Hardy Nickerson will start in his place.
10.New York Jets vs. Mia
11.*Houston Texans at Ten
Note: CB Kevin Johnson (concussion) was placed on IR-to-Return. ***Jadeveon Clowney (elbow/back) inactive.***
12.Baltimore Ravens at Cin
13.Dallas Cowboys vs. NYG
14.Tennessee Titans vs. Hou
15.Washington Redskins vs. Ind
16.New England Patriots at Jax
17.San Francisco 49ers vs. Det
18.New Orleans Saints vs. Cle
19.Carolina Panthers at Atl
20.*Pittsburgh Steelers vs. KC
Note: Joe Haden's hamstring injury was costly against the Browns last week - it's been diagnosed as a Grade 1 strain. Haden did not practice Wednesday.
21.Miami Dolphins at NYJ
22.*Seattle Seahawks at Chi
Note: ***Going to be without both K.J. Wright and Bobby Wagner on Monday night, plus Tre Flowers is doubtful.***
23.Arizona Cardinals at LAR
24.*Detroit Lions at SF
Note: Ezekiel Ansah left with a shoulder injury - the severity is uncertain, because the injury occurred when the Lions were already getting blown out on Monday night.
25.*Cleveland Browns at NO
Note: Damarious Randall (head and neck) was limited Thursday. Christian Kirksey is dealing with multiple injuries. ***Kirksey is out.***
26.Green Bay Packers vs. Min
27.*Atlanta Falcons vs. Car
Note: Two huge injuries in Week 1 for the Falcons - LB Deion Jones (foot) and S Keanu Neal (knee) are on IR.
28.*Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Phi
Note: Jason Pierre-Paul has a bad knee and was limited Thursday. Brent Grimes (groin) is questionable, and Vernon Hargreaves (shoulder) is on IR.

32.Oakland Raiders at Den
