Joins Baltimore's practice squad
The Ravens signed Boyle to their practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
ANALYSIS
Boyle was a healthy scratch in back-to-back games before being waived by the Ravens on Saturday. While he hasn't been a major factor in Baltimore's offense recently, his veteran leadership and blocking prowess are certainly strong qualities for a practice-squad tight end.

Boyle has always been a blocking-first tight end with his career-high receiving totals coming in 2019 when he caught 31 passes for 321 yards and two touchdowns. A serious knee injury suffered in 2020 impacted his availability in 2021, holding Boyle out until Week 11 and he never played more than 31 snaps in any of his five appearances down the stretch. Boyle's role in Baltimore has further come into question this offseason with a contract restructure and the Ravens spending a pair of fourth-round picks on tight ends. Boyle, when healthy, is still Baltimore's best blocking tight end but those tight end acquisitions in light of him being so limited more than a year removed from injury raise some concerns.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Attempting position switch
Boyle worked out for the Steelers during last week's rookie minicamp, but as a long snapper and not a tight end, Mark Kaboly of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 30-year-old has spent his entire career with the Ravens to this point after being drafted in the fifth round in 2015, but he didn't see a target while playing only 61 offensive snaps over 12 games in 2022. Boyle could be able to prolong his career by either making a full position switch to long snapper or by adding some versatility to his skill set, but he'll be no more than a depth option if he does sign another NFL contract.
