Rest-of-Season Projections
Let go by Detroit
The Lions waived Williams (concussion) on Friday with an injury settlement.
ANALYSIS
Williams was expected to serve as the Lions' No. 1 wideout coming out of the preseason, but his reign atop the depth chart lasted just three quarters into the campaign, as he's been sidelined since suffering a concussion in Detroit's Week 1 loss to San Francisco. Considering that Williams hadn't even been cleared to resume practicing since landing on injured reserve Week 3, the wideout seemingly has multiple steps to clear in the concussion protocol before he'll explore signing with another team.

Two years removed from signing a four-year, $44 million contract with the Raiders and one year removed from season-ending shoulder surgery, Williams is healthy and playing on a one-year "prove-it" deal in Detroit. While his last attempt to become the No. 1 wide receiver of a middling offense with a non-top-tier quarterback doesn't spark confidence in his ability to operate in that capacity - he had less than 50 receiving yards in 10 of 14 games with the Raiders in 2019 - the 29-year-old was efficient with his opportunities (10.2 YPT) and made 12 catches of 20-plus yards. With the Lions, Williams is reunited with offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn, who helped him average 16.4 YPC on 134 targets in 2017-18. With nothing more than Kalif Raymond and second-year holdover Quintez Cephus in contention for snaps on the outside, Williams could bounce back if the chips fall right.

Could find landing spot in LA
Williams could be a possible fit for the Rams, Eric D. Williams of SI.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Williams technically hasn't even been released by the Raiders but after missing the entire 2020 season after undergoing shoulder surgery, it seems like a foregone conclusion the 29-year-old will be cut to free up nearly $12 million in salary cap. Nominal No. 3 receiver Josh Reynolds is expected to field a healthy amount of suitors in the offseason, making the third receiver behind Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods a possible priority for the Rams despite limited cap space.
