With Marquez Valdes-Scantling (IR/hamstring) out another week and Davante Adams and Allen Lazard on the COVID list, the Packers turned to St. Brown, Winfree and Cobb as their top three receivers.
- Cobb scored two TDs, and saw four of his five targets in the end zone.
Tonyan was on his way to a solid game (3-49-0) for the second week in a row, before tearing an ACL in the second half.
- Marcedes Lewis, Josiah Deguara, Dominique Dafney and Tyler Davis are Green Bay's tight ends now. Not much hope for fantasy production, especially given that Tonyan wasn't doing much in the first place.
RB Aaron Jones led the team with 11 targets. He's averaged 6.7 in the seven games he's played without Adams in the lineup the past three seasons.
Lazard was reinstated from the COVID list Monday, while Adams remained on it.

Hopkins was in and out of the game with a hamstring injury, and caught two of two targets for 66 yards on just 24% of snaps.
- Wesley picked up most of the vacated snaps, though Moore also got a season-high 61% snap share (up from 52% and 56% in the previous two games).
- Rough night for Moore, even with the season high for snap share. He muffed a punt, and had a screen pass bounce off his hands for an interception (it was also a terrible throw... plus, the margins for error are smaller when you have the league's shortest QB throwing to the shortest WR).
Ertz wasn't as productive as in his first game with the Cardinals, but his snap share jumped from 49% to 71%. And he finished with 4-42-0 on four targets, after 4-66-1 on five targets in his Cardinals debut.
- The trade seems to have worked out nicely for both Ertz and Goedert, with the latter catching nine of 12 targets for 142 yards in two games post-Ertz.
The mistake at the end is all anyone will remember, but Green did catch five passes for 50 yards on a team-high eight targets.

A close game led to slightly-higher-than-usual snap shares for most of the key guys, including RB Joe Mixon.
Boyd and Higgins still don't get huge snap shares, but they've run routes on 85% and 86% of Joe Burrow's dropbacks, respectively, over the past four games (since Higgins returned from injury).
Boyd came back to life as soon as I tweeted concern for his well-being.
- Not his well-being, but his target share. Even after the big game, it's at just 15.8% in the four games since Higgins returned.
- During that same time, Chase and Higgins are at 25.6% (34 targets each, 8.5 per game)
Between Jets turnovers and their own success moving the ball, the Bengals ran a ton of plays in the red zone. Chase saw four end-zone targets, Boyd two and Higgins one.
- The best sequence was when Burrow forced the ball to Higgins on first down right after he'd made a spectacular catch just short of the goal line. After the incompletion, Burrow went back to an open Chase for a TD on second down. It's been that kind of year for Tee('s fantasy managers).

Corey Davis (hip) was inactive after being listed as doubtful. A Thursday game in Week 9 won't help his chances to avoid another absence.
The Jets really rotated players, though in terms of production it was all about Crowder and the running backs.
- Crowder caught eight of nine targets for 84 yards, but also lost a fumble.
- Crowder is averaging 5.8 catches for 50.8 yards and 0.25 TDs on 7.5 targets per game. And he's missed three of seven games. On-brand.
Moore made the most of his chances, catching six of six targets for 67 yards and adding one carry on four yards, though he played only one-third of snaps on offense.

In addition to two targets, Reagor had two carries for 21 yards and nearly scored a TD before exiting with an ankle injury.
- Watkins ended up leading the team's skill-position players in snap share. And he could be an every-down player if Reagor misses time beyond Sunday, with Ward then filling in as the third receiver and slot specialist.
Goedert led the team in targets and played 93% of snaps in the first half.
- The week before, he caught three of five targets for 70 yards and played 93% of snaps.
Watkins played 86% of snaps in the first half, and Smith took 77%. The blowout impacted snap shares.

St. Brown took 83% of his snaps in the slot, while Benson was on the perimeter for 91% and Raymond was on the perimeter for 70%.
- Benson's largest snap share of the year didn't go well... zero targets on 30 routes.
- St. Brown had a similar stat line. toBenson's the week before in Los Angeles
Hockenson still hasn't scored since Week 2 but does have three straight games with nine or more targets.
- He's second among TEs in targets, fifth in target share, sixth in air yards, second in routes, ninth in targets per route, 15th in yards per route and t-15th in EZ targets.

Jefferson didn't quite match his season highs of 94% snap share and seven targets from the week before, but he came pretty close, and caught three of six targets for 88 yards.
- Meanwhile, DeSean Jackson is ~~requesting a trade~~ no longer on the team, Tutu Atwell suffered a season-ending shoulder injury, and Sean McVay doesn't seem to trust his backup TEs (or does he? more below...).
- In other words, Jefferson could stay in the every-down role.
Prior to the fourth quarter, Kupp and Woods played every snap, Jefferson got 81% and Higbee got 79%.
- Higbee has been playing 100%, or close to it, most weeks. In this one, he lost some snaps to Kendall Blanton, a 260-pound blocking specialist. Not sure it matters in just one game, especially against Houston, but I'll keep an eye on it over the next few weeks. Higbee did rinish with 10 fewer routes than Jefferson/Kupp/Woods... not ideal.

Akins picked up a bit of extra playing time with Pharaoh Brown (thigh) inactive, and rookie TE Brevin Jordan got some work as well.
- Jordan finished with 3-41-1 on four targets, and Akins had a rare efficient day with 5-53-0.
- Jordan is a 21-year-old rookie fifth-round pick who put up a 38-576-7 stat line in eight games his final season at The U. I'd give him more playing time if I were a rebuilding team, but what do I know?

Parker had season highs for targets (11), yards (85) and snap share (91%) in his first game since Week 4. He'd been out with a hamstring injury.
Gesicki saw just four targets but finished with a career-high 97% snap share. The Dolphins' heavy use of multi-TE formations has worked in his favor, though in past seasons he often came off the field for those looks and saw most of his playing time in one-TE looks (11 personnel). This year he gets most of the snaps in both single-TE and multi-TE formations, with Miami using the latter far more often in recent weeks.
- Miami could still shift to more three-wide if/when Will Fuller (finger) returns from IR.
Preston Williams was benched for disciplinary reasons. He's also missed time with injuries this year, and has caught five of 12 targets for 67 yards in three games.
- Isaiah Ford, Albert Wilson and Mock Hollins each got a few snaps, but mostly the Dolphins just used their top two wide receivers (Waddle and Parker) and their tight ends.

- They used 11 personnel on 55 of 72 (76%). Which helped Beasley, in particular.
- They also went four-wide 12 times. So all but five snaps featured three or more WRs on the field.
Sanders played 86% of snaps before the fourth quarter. Diggs got 84%. Beasley 78%. Sweeney 74%. Davis 43%.

- The rookie TE finished with 4-44-1 on seven targets, and saw two of the team's four end-zone targets.
- No. 3 TE Zach Gentry also saw a lot more playing time, but ran nine fewer routes than Freiermuth.
- Mooth has seven targets in back-to-back games.
Diontae Johnson has double-digit targets in five of six games this year.
- He had just two in the other game, but caught both for 72 yards and a touchdown.
- Johnson's season low for PPR points is 14.6.

Small sample, yes, but Landry now ranks 34th among WRs in target share (21.6%) and fourth in targets per route (0.312).
- He played just two snaps in one game. In the other three, he's put up 5-71-0 (five targets), 5-37-0 (eight targets) and 5-65-0 (10 targets). Exciting? No. Functional? Yes. And he's healthier than OBJ.
Hooper saw a season-high six targets, but he and Njoku both continue to linger around 50 percent route share. Not much potential there.

Brown had another huge game, and with Derrick Henry (foot) out for at least the next month and a half, there's finally upside for AJB to see dominant, No. 1-receiver volume. Of course, he'll be seeing it an offense that won't be as good without Henry (and doesn't have another real threat in the passing game until/unless Julio Jones (hamstring) can get healthy).
Johnson caught just one of five targets for eight yards, but in terms of snaps/routes/targets he was ahead of Westbrook-Ikhine and Rogers. Meanwhile, Josh Reynolds played only 7% of snaps.

Calvin Ridley is out indefinitely for personal reasons, as you may have heard.
- Sharpe caught five of six targets for 58 yards, but in terms of routes and snaps he was dead-even with Sharpe...
  - And both ran eight fewer routes than Pitts.
  - Note that Hurst ran just as many routes as Sharpe and Gage, too.
Gage took 53% of his snaps on the perimeter and 35% in the slot. So, the lack of an every-down role wasn't about being pigeon-holed to the slot. At least not directly.

Progress for Aiyuk, finally. He had season highs for snap share and targets, with a 4-45-0 receiving line plus a two-point conversion. And he picked up 28 yards on two punt returns. With no drops or fumbles.
- Deebo did have two drops,,, but he made up for it, of course. Just another day at the office with 171 yards.
Woerner has taken more playing time away from Dwelley with each passing week, but the second-year pro still hasn't seen more than two targets in a game.
- It doesn't help that he's blocked on 12 of 53 pass snaps, 22.6%, per PFF.

Agholor's snap share bounced back after back-to-back weeks in the 50s. Jonnu getting banged up the previous week may have been a slight factor (though he played through the injury Sunday) but it's also possible the Pats are finally liking what they see from Agholor.
- He had 2-51-1 last week, and 3-60-0 in this one. That's more of what the team envisioned from the supposed big-play threat.
We didn't get to see how Henry's workload would change sans-Jonnu. And the two combined for only five targets, with Henry going 1-33-0 in this revenge game.
Bourne played only four of 37 snaps (11%) in the second half. No injury was reported, and he seems to have been benched after losing a fumble in the third quarter.
- Bourne nonetheless finished with seven targets, second most on the team.
- In the second half, Meyes played 89% of snaps, Agholor 78% and Harry 46%.

- Despite getting just two targets and 18 snaps in his first game with the team, Arnold has seen just one fewer target (25) than Marvin Jones (26) in four games since the trade. Laviska Shenault has 24 targets in the same time.
- Agnew, naturally, has a team-high 26 targets during the stretch. Even though he wasn't promoted to his new role until three games ago. Since then, he's put up 6-41-0 on seven targets, 5-78-0 on six targets and now 6-38-1 on 12 targets.
  - And he still returns punts and kicks!

McLaurin enters the bye averaging 5.4 catches for 71.6 yards per game, down a tick from 5.8 for 74.5 last season. But he already has as many TDs (four) as he scored all of last year in 15 games. And he might be getting a QB upgrade after the Week 9 bye... or not? What's up with Fitzmagic?
Logan Thomas (hamstring) may be back after the bye. RSJ is droppable.

Teddy Bridgewater attempted only 26 passes, and seven players saw either three or four targets. Nobody got more than four.

Trautman was on the field a ton and matched his Week 1 high of six targets, but he finished with only two catches for four yards.
- Per PFF, Trautman blocked on 11 of his pass snaps, most of any TE in Week 8.
Smith played 63% of snaps and caught each of his three targets for 33 yards and a TD.
Harris had a busy day despite running just 16 routes as the No. 3 receiver. He finished with 3-35-0 on seven targets, plus a carry for 22 yards and three returns for 81 yards.

- Hard to say how many snaps/targets Gallup will get. He's a good player, but between the consistent running game and Schultz's breakout (which contributes to fewer three-receiver formations) it's possible Gallup is limited to a handful of targets per week. He should at least see more than Wilson, who averaged 3.2 targets over the past six games with Gallup out.

Shepard left in the second quarter with a quad injury, yet still finished with the most targets of the bunch. Partly because Toney played just 54% of snaps in his first game back from an ankle sprain.
Slayton was targeted just twice despite leading the bunch in snaps. And Engram scored a rare TD but was otherwise quiet.
In the second half, Johnson played 72% of snaps, more than both Toney (55%) and Ross (24%).
- Shepard played 64% of his snaps in the slot, while Johnson got only 23% of his there. Toney was at 40%, taking on more inside work after Shepard's departure.
  - Toney took eight of his 14 second-half snaps (57%) in the slot. After just four of 16 (25%) in the slot in the first half.
