Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2021
Darden was a late-season, free-agent claim in 2022 and had a cup of coffee in two games for the Browns. With five bodies locked in above him on the depth chart, Darden will have to be explosive in camp and preseason games. He brings return experience with him and got a look in the area during preseason action.
A speedster from North Texas, Darden appears headed for a potentially prominent role on returns during his rookie season. The 2021 fourth-round pick improved in each of his college campaigns, eclipsing 70 receptions in both of his last two seasons and capping off his senior year with 1,190 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. Darden likely has too many hurdles to earn significant playing time this season, but his prior experience on both punt and kick returns should net him opportunities as he makes the leap from Conference USA to the NFL.

Surprise pick to make team
WRCleveland Browns
July 2, 2023
Zac Jackson of The Athletic projects that Darden will make Cleveland's 53-man roster.
ANALYSIS
Darden's a surprising choice to snag the final wide receiver spot over Jakeem Grant and recent third-round draft picks David Bell and Anthony Schwartz. Darden's flexibility as a gadget player on offense and return man on special teams could earn him a roster spot, especially if Grant remains hampered by the Achilles injury that sidelined him for the entire 2022 season.
