Olamide Zaccheaus

27-Year-Old Wide ReceiverWR
Washington Commanders
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Zaccheaus will be on his third team in as many seasons in 2024 after catching 10 passes in 17 games for the Eagles last year and ultimately failing to unseat Quez Watkins from the No. 3 role. The 27-year-old might have another chance to compete for No. 3 status in Washington, where the Commanders otherwise appear to have Luke McCaffrey and Dyami Brown competing for regular roles behind top receiver Terry McLaurin. It was only two years ago that Zaccheaus caught 40 passes for 533 yards as a 13-game starter for Atlanta, but he probably profiles best as a fourth or fifth receiver. Read Past Outlooks

Catches three passes for 19 yards
WRWashington Commanders
January 13, 2025
Zaccheaus caught each of his three targets for 19 yards in a 23-20 win at Tampa Bay on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Zaccheaus finished second among Washington's wide receivers in snap share (68 percent), slightly ahead of Dyami Brown, who took 58 percent of snaps and caught each of his five targets for 89 yards and a touchdown. Zaccheaus out-produced Brown in each of the final three games of the regular season, catching 15 of 22 targets for 206 yards and three touchdowns during that stretch, so both figure to be involved in the offense during Washington's next playoff game Saturday at Detroit.

Zaccheaus' numbers have improved in each of his four years in the NFL, resulting in a trio of touchdowns and career highs in targets (61), receptions (40) and receiving yards (533) last season. Each of those marks ranked second on the Falcons behind Drake London, but Zacchaeus departed for the Eagles in free agency this offseason. The move means Zaccheaus will be competing with Quez Watkins for the third receiver job, a role worth less in Philadelphia than most places due to the presence of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Watkins caught just 33 passes as the team's third wideout in 2022, while since departed fourth option Zach Pascal had just 15 catches.
With Calvin Ridley away from the team in 2021, Zaccheaus saw the best breakout opportunity of his career, but aside from a two-touchdown performance Week 9, he failed to make a lasting impression. After the NFL handed down a season-long suspension for Ridley and Russell Gage left in free agency this offseason, Zaccheaus was slated to be the No. 1 wideout before Atlanta made numerous moves to address its pass-catching corps. First-round pick Drake London and trade acquisition Bryan Edwards could man the top-2 wideout spots for the team to begin the year, while Zaccheaus may find himself in competition with Auden Tate to be the main slot man. However, even if Zaccheaus wins the role, it remains to be seen how many mouths a Marcus Mariota-led offense can feed.
A 2019 undrafted free agent, Zaccheaus has demonstrated some big-play potential for the Falcons, with three catches of 40-plus yards among his 23 career receptions. He's averaged 10.5 yards per target through two seasons, but he's also needed injuries to one of two star wideouts to make an impact. Before a toe injury sidelined him for the final five games of 2020, Zaccheaus' two biggest efforts - 8-86-0 in Week 4 and 4-103-1 in Week 9 - came when Jones missed most of the former and when Ridley was inactive for the latter. Even if Atlanta ends up acquiescing to Jones' trade request, Zaccheaus will be firmly behind Ridley, Russell Gage and stud rookie tight end Kyle Pitts in the pecking order for targets.
Zaccheaus is slotted into Atlanta's No. 4 wide receiver role to begin the season, after overcoming Christian Blake and 2016 No. 23 overall pick Laquon Treadwell to secure the gig. Zaccheaus lit up the stat sheet late in his collegiate career at Virginia, and he now plays for an NFL offense that is fresh off a No. 1 ranking in pass attempts (684). The issue is, of course, that with Julio Jones, Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage already firmly planted in prominent roles on the depth chart, Zaccheaus remains a long shot to provide sustainable fantasy utility in 2020. Furthermore, down the stretch of 2019 it was Blake and Justin Hardy who split the No. 4 role after Mohamed Sanu's midseason trade to New England, while Zaccheaus was less involved offensively.
Zaccheaus was an absolute production monster over the latter half of his career at Virginia, piecing together back-to-back seasons of 1,000 offensive yards in 2017 and 2018, while scoring six-plus touchdowns over each of his final three seasons with the Cavaliers. He went unselected in April's draft, but with a number of acrobatic catches in the preseason made enough of an impression with the Falcons coaching staff to secure a spot on the 53-man roster. During his rookie campaign Zaccheaus will serve as Atlanta's No. 5 or 6 wide receiver, while taking on a prominent special teams role.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Will be WR2 against Atlanta
WRWashington Commanders
December 28, 2024
Zaccheaus will be the Commanders' No. 2 wideout behind Terry McLaurin on Sunday against the Falcons due to Dyami Brown being ruled out with a hamstring injury.
ANALYSIS
Zaccheaus had his best game of the 2024 campaign this past Sunday against the Eagles, during which he caught five passes on eight targets for 80 yards and two touchdowns while playing a season-high 46 snaps on offense. Brown injured his hamstring during that game, and Zaccheaus is in line for a bigger role in Week 17 due to the former's absence. Zaccheaus spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Falcons and had his most productive season in 2022 with Atlanta, when he logged 40 catches on 61 targets for 533 yards and two touchdowns across 17 regular-season games.
