January 13, 2025
Miller reverted to the Ravens' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
ANALYSIS
Miller was one of two wide receivers to be elevated for Saturday's wild-card game against the Steelers, and he ended up getting the nod over Keith Kirkwood. Miller played nine snaps on offense and caught all three of his targets for 12 yards, tying Isaiah Likely for the second-most receptions on the team behind Justice Hill (four). Miller could be elevated for Sunday's AFC divisional-round clash against the Bills if Zay Flowers (knee) is unable to play.

Miller began the 2021 season with the Texans but was cut in October. He spent most of the second half of the year on the Steelers' practice squad and appeared in only one game for the team. He signed a reserve/future contract with Pittsburgh in January and will compete for a role during the offseason. Although the Steelers lost JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud during the offseason, it seems unlikely that Miller will have a significant role in the offense after appearing in just three games between his two teams last year.
Miller, a second-round pick in the 2018 Draft, will get a fresh start in Houston for the final year of his rookie contract . He showed some promise in Chicago back in 2019, with 52 catches for 656 yards and two touchdowns, but he followed that up with a 49-485-2 line and five drops last season. Back in March, the Bears made Miller available for trade, eventually finding a taker in Houston. The Texans later traded Randall Cobb to Green Bay, but they still have Keke Coutee to compete with Miller for slot snaps. It is possible Miller could see regular work on the perimeter for the first time, considering the Texans lack proven outside threats beyond Brandin Cooks.
The 51st overall pick in 2018, Miller showed flashes last year, in particular a 13-9-140 game on Thanksgiving and a 15-9-118-1 game against the Packers in Week 15. Overall, his numbers were nothing special - 12.6 YPC and 7.7 YPT - while playing in one of the league's worst passing games. At 5-11, 199, Miller has only average size, and his 4.50 timed speed is similarly middle of the road. But he's athletic and strong - 39-inch vertical, 125-inch broad jump and a very quick 6.65 cone drill - and runs good routes. This year, Miller will start as the clear No. 2 option opposite Allen Robinson, and if quarterback Mitchell Trubisky doesn't improve, he'll be replaced by Nick Foles, who is at least a low-end, NFL-caliber starting quarterback, unlike last year's backup Chase Daniel. Like last year, Miller had offseason surgery to address chronic left shoulder problems, but he should be ready for the start of camp.
The 51st overall pick in last year's draft, Miller showed some sparks as a rookie while playing through a shoulder injury, scoring seven times on only 54 targets and making two plays of 40-plus yards. At 5-11, 190, Miller has only average size, and his 4.50 timed speed is similarly middle of the road. But he's athletic - 39-inch vertical - and a polished route runner who scored 32 TDs in his final 26 college games. Moreover, the situation for Miller in Chicago is good. Quarterback Mitchell Trubisky improved in Year 2, and coach Matt Nagy is one of the more innovative offensive minds in the league. There are a few mouths to feed in this offense - Allen Robinson returns as a low-end No. 1, Tarik Cohen is a weapon out of the backfield, TE Trey Burton saw 76 targets a year ago, and the speedy, 165-pound Taylor Gabriel gets plays called for him - but there is plenty of room for Miller to carve out a significant role in this high-powered attack. One other concern is the shoulder Miller dislocated five or six times last year and on which he had surgery in January. He didn't do much during the offseason program but received clearance for the start of training camp.
Taken with the 51st overall pick, Miller could get opportunities right out of the gate. Allen Robinson, who's returning from a torn ACL, is the team's No. 1, but after him only the perennially injured Kevin White and 165-pound Taylor Gabriel stand in Miller's way. Tailback Tarik Cohen functions as an extra receiver of sorts, too, but if Miller proves ready, he could wind up as Mitchell Trubisky's No. 2 target. At 5-11, 190, Miller has only average size, and his 4.50 40 run at his pro day was similarly middle of the road, but he's an explosive athlete (39-inch vertical jump) and a polished route runner who scored 32 TDs in his last 26 college games.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Season could be in jeopardy
WRHouston Texans
August 16, 2021
Texans coach David Culley said he was "hopeful" Miller would be able to play this season after he suffered a shoulder injury in Saturday's preseason game, Aaron Reiss of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
The injury was initially described as a slight dislocation, but Culley's comments Monday suggest the team may have gotten grimmer news since then. Miller does have a history of shoulder issues, which may be playing into the coach's hesitance to guarantee the receiver would be back any time soon. In his absence, Keke Coutee will likely handle the first-team reps out of the slot for Houston.
