Wright essentially was in a contract year in 2019, as the Seahawks could've cut him and saved $6.5 million in 2020. However, the 30-year-old exceeded expectations with career highs in tackles (132), pass breakups (11) and interceptions (three), so he'll be sticking in Seattle for his 10th NFL season. He and Bobby Wagner have the most secure jobs on the team, but Wright will come at a decent discount in fantasy settings.
Wright carried four straight 100-tackle seasons into the 2018 campaign, but the streak ended when he injured his knee and only took the field for five games. The 30-year-old re-upped with the only team he has ever played for, although injury concerns still linger. The trade acquisition of Jadeveon Clowney got rid of Wright's main competition in Barkevious Mingo and Jacob Martin, meaning Wright should be a heavily used starter at outside linebacker opposite Mychal Kendricks. Keep Wright on your radar for IDP usage, but make sure he's healthy enough before plugging him into your fantasy lineup.
In addition to Bobby Wagner, Wright is one of the two full-time linebackers for Seattle, and one with four straight seasons of triple-digit tackles to his name. Wright probably has one of the lowest ceilings on this list – he's surpassed 120 tackles just once in seven years and he doesn't make plays in coverage – but he also boasts one of the more reliable floors among linebacker IDPs thanks to his average of 114 tackles per year going back to 2014. Shaquem Griffin shouldn't be a problem for Wright until 2019.
Wright may be the most belligerent player on this list after Burfict, but you can get away with cheap shots when you play linebacker as well as he does. Even with Bobby Wagner stealing most of the spotlight, Wright is a feared defender riding the wave of three consecutive seasons with triple-digit tackles. There isn't much interception potential here -- just one in six years -- but a career-high four sacks from last year shows his pass-rushing skill set is reaching new levels. Wright should once again lock into a three-down role next to Wagner.
Surpassing 850 snaps each of the last two years, Wright has 223 tackles and three sacks to his credit over that time, giving him low-end LB2 utility in most IDP formats. His play count could decrease a bit if Bobby Wagner stays healthy all year, but Wright's 2014 season is likely his floor. Just realize the ceiling likely isn't high, as only two of Wright's five NFL seasons resulted in triple-digit tackles. Still, he's one of the more underrated outside linebackers in the league.
A 2011 fourth-round pick, Wright has become an important piece in the Seahawks defense. He's faster than his 4.75 speed suggests and his versatility allows him to play all three linebacker spots. A sure tackler, he's good for a 100-tackle pass every year. Playing weakside linebacker doesn't offer many sack opportunities, but he usually gets a couple a season. At 6-foot-4, 246 pounds, Wright is strong against the run and in coverage, which is why the Seahawks rewarded him with a four-year extension last December.
Wright missed three games last season with a foot injury but otherwise was a force at weakside linebacker. The position doesn't offer him many sacks -- just 4.5 in his three seasons in Seattle -- but he's posted a 100-tackle pace the last two years. The Seahawks have an excellent linebacking corps, and the 6-4, 246, Wright is a major reason why.
Wagner has decisively established himself as Seattle's top linebacker, but Wright seems safely locked in as the team's other nickel linebacker, meaning Wright should comfortably make it to triple-digit tackles as long as he plays 16 games. He missed one game and most of another due to a concussion, and as a result he finished with 96 tackles to go along with one sack and one interception. Wright's per-game tackle numbers should improve in 2013, though, because Leroy Hill is no longer around, and Wright should surpass the 866 defensive snaps he saw in 2012.

ANALYSIS
"I mean, I love ball, but I'm not willing to pick up and leave my family like I did last year," said Wright, who played for Las Vegas in 2021 after spending the first 10 seasons of his career in Seattle. The linebacker has been in contact with the Seahawks this offseason, but the team may be more interested in bringing him back in a coaching role rather than as a player.
