2024 Fantasy Outlook
Flacco signed a one-year deal in March with $4.5 million guaranteed to back up Anthony Richardson in Indianapolis. Flacco gives the Colts a veteran capable of keeping the team afloat should Richardson go down. That’s what he did last year in Cleveland, after joining the Browns in mid-November. By December, he was the starter and guided the Browns to the playoffs, earning Comeback Player of the Year honors. Flacco’s on-target rate was 67.6 percent -- 33rd of 35 QBs with at least 200 attempts -- partly because he went downfield at such a high rate -- 38.3 percent of attempts went at least 10 yards (2nd), 12.3 percent at least 20 yards (3rd). Among QBs with at least 200 attempts, his 9.3 air yards per attempt ranked second and his 7.9 YPA was sixth. Flacco still has a strong arm, and at 39, he still has something left in the tank. Ends season with OT win
Flacco completed 23 of 40 passes for 264 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-23 overtime win over the Jaguars.
ANALYSIS
Getting the start in place of Anthony Richardson (back), Flacco hit Alec Pierce for a 40-yard TD on the Colts' first possession and finished the game with respectable numbers. This may have been the 39-year-old quarterback's final NFL game, as he will become a free agent this offseason and hasn't indicated whether he wants to keep playing, but if he does elect to keep playing he seems to be a good fit in Indy as the backup/mentor to the gifted but raw Richardson. Over eight appearances in 2024, Flacco completed 65.3 percent of his passes for 1,761 yards and a 12:7 TD:INT.

Flacco re-signed with the Jets during the offseason and enters camp as the favorite to beat out Mike White for the backup spot behind 2021 second overall pick Zach Wilson. The 37-year-old Flacco played well in limited action last year, coming nine yards short of 300 in his lone start of the season. Flacco could end up making the Week 1 start after Wilson injured his knee in the preseason opener.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Starting again Week 18
Flacco will remain the starting quarterback for the Colts against the Jaguars in Week 18 due to Anthony Richardson's back injury, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Richardson made what was described as "significant" progress this week from the back spasms that began on Christmas Eve and sidelined him in Week 17 against the Giants, but not enough to practice effectively. Therefore, Flacco, who completed 26 of 38 passes for 330 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions versus New York, will draw another start against Jacksonville after throwing for 359 yards and three touchdowns versus the Jaguars in Week 5.
