The Jaguars claimed Brown off waivers from the Raiders on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Brown will add depth to the Jaguars injury-riddled linebacker corps going forward, and he'll have a shot at a starting role right off the bat. The sixth-year linebacker could come in handy Sunday against the Raiders, as Brown should have a good grasp on their system after spending the last four weeks with them.

The Bengals suffered from horrible linebacker play in 2019, in no small part due to injuries to Brown and Vontaze Burfict. Brown was expected to rack up big tackle numbers, much as he did with the Bills, but ankle and knee injuries limited him to only seven games, none after Week 10's blowout loss to the Saints. Burfict is gone, but Brown is back after signing a three-year deal, and a lot will be expected of him. Brown likely will be making the defensive calls while starting between Nick Vigil and rookie Germaine Pratt.

Not a fit in Cincy
Brown, who was waived by the Bengals on Tuesday, may have been deemed expendable in part because of a lack of leadership, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown had been inked to a three-year, $16.5 million deal in March that included $4.8 million in guaranteed money. That pact also made him the highest-paid linebacker on the roster, and there were recent hints the Bengals didn't feel they were coming close to getting their money's worth. Coach Zac Taylor had commented Monday that "someone needs to step up and be a leader there" in reference to his linebacker room, adding the coaching staff had been waiting for someone from the position group to play with some consistency. Brown recorded 54 tackles (27 solo), a forced fumble and a fumble recovery over nine games, but he was also an integral part of a defense that heads into Week 11 allowing an NFL-high 173 rushing yards per contest.
