No Thursday games this week, two Monday games. The Falcons shut down their practice facility Thursday in the wake of a positive COVID-19 test, but were back open on Friday. The Patriots had another positive test, and a second player is having his test reviewed. The Colts had four false-positives.

Welcome to the Weekly Value Meter Rankings. This is a guide to help you decide who to start and sit in a given week. It's is not a season-long ranking nor a draft guide, and it's also not really intended as a free agent guide. While I appreciate that you want my opinion on pickups, every league is different, and your decision on whether to add/drop a particular player might also be dictated by other factors than who is rated higher in a given week.

Here are my operating assumptions for the rankings:

- The RB/WR/TE position rankings are for PPR leagues.
- The Flex rankings are for Standard leagues.
- 1 point per 10 rushing/receiving yards.
- 1 point per 20 passing yards.
- 4 points per passing touchdowns.

These are the rankings I use when I make my start/sit decisions. Please consult the rankings first before asking "Player X vs. Player Y?" without any other mitigating factors. Of course, I welcome debate - if you think I'm wrong, let me know. But please check out the rankings first before asking your start/sit question. This truly reflects

Starting after Week 1, the rankings for the subsequent week will first post on Tuesday nights, roughly around 10:00 pm PT. I will then do a set of updates before kickoff on Thursday, and again before kickoff on Sunday morning. I will post at the top of the article in bold font when ranking updates are in progress and when they're complete.

I welcome debate on the rankings in the comments. Please keep it friendly.

Baker Mayfield CLE at PIT Note: Mayfield suffered a rib injury towards the end of the Browns win over the Colts and though x-rays were negative immediately afterward, his status will be monitored closely this week. Mayfield's practice reps have been limited on both Wednesday and Thursday. He did get the proverbial 'trending in the right direction' status from offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. Officially listed as questionable, but is expected to play. Both OBJ and Jarvis Landry are also listed as questionable.*
22.	Kyle Allen WAS at NYG Note: Allen was sidelined by a hit to his non-throwing arm in the loss to the Rams, but he's expected to return this week. Participated in a full practice on Wednesday.*

24.	*Joe Burrow CIN at IND Note: Burrow's protection against the Ravens' pass rush was nearly non-existent, but he also made rookie mistakes when he did have time to throw.

Jimmy Garoppolo SF vs. LAR Note: Evan though Jimmy G. got benched at halftime in the loss to the Dolphins, he's expected to participate in practice this week and start again against the Rams on Sunday. The Niners acknowledged that he was dealing with 'usual' discomfort arising from his high-ankle sprain in the game and that he was benched for his protection last week. He had a full practice Wednesday and is in line to start against the Rams, but will he be compromised again?*
