Gets only six carries
McNichols took six carries for 32 yards in a 42-19 win over the Titans on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
McNichols didn't benefit much from Austin Ekeler's absence due to a concussion, with Brian Robinson getting most of the backfield touches early in the game and Chris Rodriguez then taking 11 carries during the fourth quarter. McNichols played 25 percent of snaps, well behind Robinson (47 percent) and slightly behind Rodriguez (28 percent), although the latter mostly played in the fourth quarter of a blowout. Ekeler will miss at least three more games after Washington's Week 14 bye, but any considerable fantasy value for McNichols might also require Robinson missing time.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2021
2019
2018
2017
McNichols appeared destined to be mostly a special teams role player after three seasons as a professional. However, in 2020, he managed a career-high 271 offensive snaps which translated to 47 rushing attempts, 12 receptions and 259 total yards as Derrick Henry's primary backup. Heading into 2021, McNichols may find it difficult to maintain that role. The Titans invested a third-round pick in Darrynton Evans in the 2020 draft, though he was sidelined by various injuries for much of his rookie season. The team also added Brian Hill as a free agent in the offseason. Both moves will likely shift McNichols back to primarily a special teams role and without much fantasy upside in sight.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Set to back up Robinson
McNichols is set to serve as the Commanders' No. 2 running back in Sunday's game against the Titans after Austin Ekeler was ruled out due to a concussion, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McNichols has already been effective in the wake of absences in the Commanders' backfield this season, generating three tallies of more than 40 rushing yards, including a season-best 68-yard, two-touchdown effort against the Cardinals in Week 4. The veteran could help fill Ekeler's role Sunday despite sparse usage as a pass catcher this season, as McNichols recorded 28 receptions for 240 yards and a touchdown over 14 regular-season games with the team he'll face Sunday, the Titans, back in 2021.
