2024 Fantasy Outlook
After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Rams, Fuller signed a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Panthers this offseason. The 26-year-old safety will look to build on an impressive 2023 campaign, which included 94 tackles, three forced fumbles and three interceptions among eight passes defended. Fuller is expected to play alongside Xavier Woods as part of Carolina's starting safety duo, and the two will look to help bolster a defense that ranked dead last in takeaways in 2023. Panthers coach Dave Canales said Wednesday that Fuller (hamstring) won't require surgery to address his injury, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Fuller's hamstring injury led to his placement on IR on Tuesday, so the fact that he'll be able to avoid surgery inspires hope that the starting safety will be able to get back on the field when first eligible. Being placed on IR rules Fuller out for at least the next four games, which makes a Week 8 matchup against the Broncos on Oct. 27 his first possible return to game action.

Nick Scott and Taylor Rapp and their combined 1,885 defensive snaps are gone, and Fuller, who spent most of 2022 on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, will be called upon to replicate his 113-tackle 2021 season while taking over as the Rams' primary strong safety. Durability has been the biggest concern for Fuller since entering the NFL, with a lighter frame and lesser athleticism that may have played a factor in missing 19 games through his first three campaigns.
Although a 2020 sixth-round pick, Fuller established himself as a standout safety almost from Day 1. His real-life play didn’t translate to big IDP production that year, but in 2021 Fuller broke out with 113 tackles on 989 snaps. Durability is arguably Fuller’s biggest concern. He played 12 games as a rookie and suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 18 last year. The recovery is reportedly on schedule.
The Ohio State product made an immediate impact as a rookie in 2020 and won a starting job in training camp. It was a surprise considering the Rams plucked him from the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Fuller finished the campaign with 60 tackles (42 solo), five pass defenses and three interceptions through 12 games. He missed one contest with a shoulder injury and another three due to a neck stinger. Fuller has potential to take a step forward in 2021, but he probably shouldn't be viewed as a week-in, week-out option in most IDP formats.
