2024 Fantasy Outlook
Lock signed with the Giants in March as the backup to Daniel Jones, who might not be ready for the start of the season after a November ACL injury and hasn’t exactly cemented himself as the Giants’ long-term answer anyway. The door seemingly is cracked for Lock to take the starting job, at least early in the season. That wasn’t the case the last two years in Seattle, where Lock was firmly behind Geno Smith, which partially explains why he bolted for New York. At 6-4, 228, Lock has prototypical size and arm strength, and he was credible in two starts for an injured Smith last season, completing 68.8 percent of his attempts at a 7.5-yard average depth. He won’t have as much help in New York, with Malik Nabers, the sixth overall pick in this year’s draft, leading an otherwise mediocre group of skill-position players that had Saquon Barkley replaced by Devin Singletary this offseason. Sidelined for Week 15 game
Lock (heel/elbow) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Ravens as New York's emergency No. 3 quarterback, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Lock is dealing with a left elbow injury and a sore heel, though the latter issue is considered the greater concern after the quarterback had been in a walking boot this past week. He was unable to practice Wednesday through Friday, though the Giants still left the door open for Lock to be available as a backup to Tommy DeVito on Sunday by listing him as doubtful heading into the weekend. As a result of his inactive status, Lock won't be available to play Sunday unless DeVito and backup Tim Boyle -- who was elevated from the practice squad Saturday -- are forced out of the contest due to injury. Head coach Brian Daboll previously said that Lock will be the Giants' starter when healthy, so the 28-year-old could resume directing the offense Week 16 against the Falcons if he shows improvement in his recovery from his two injuries.

Lock lost an open quarterback competition to Geno Smith before last season, and Smith played his way into a three-year, $105 million contract. Nevertheless, Lock accepted a one-year, $4 million deal to be the backup in Seattle in 2023. He's only 26 years old and is a fine backup with a career 6.7 yards per attempt and 25:20 TD:INT, but he'll be hard-pressed to find a starting job unless he can prove himself further. If he manages to get playing time in Seattle, however, he's set up well for success with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett and Jaxon Smith-Njigba at wide receiver.

Set to miss out on Week 15 start
Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that Lock isn't expected to start in Sunday's game against the Ravens due to a heel injury, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Lock missed practice Wednesday and was wearing a walking boot, leading Daboll to pre-emptively declare that Tommy DeVito will be directing the offense against Baltimore. Daboll confirmed Lock would have received another start had he been healthy, and the veteran signal-caller could still operate as the No. 2 quarterback versus the Ravens if he shows progress in his recovery from the heel injury as the week rolls along.
