Weekly Rankings: Week 8 Value Meter

This article is part of our Weekly Rankings series.

Sunday update complete.

Bye Week: Atlanta, Dallas, LA Chargers, Tennessee

Eagles vs. Jaguars is an early game in London

Here are my rankings (if you want a second opinion, please see our formula-based projections - these are not tied into my rankings at all) for the coming week at each position to help you decide your starting lineup. Our rankings are based on the following scoring system: four points for a passing touchdown; six points for a rushing/receiving touchdown; one point for every 20 passing yards; and one point for every 10 rushing/receiving yards. Most importantly, the default rankings are now for PPR leagues.

**** PLEASE READ: Times change, and with them, so do I, even if I go kicking and screaming into the good night. The vast majority of the fantasy football universe plays with some form of PPR -whether it's a full point or 1/2 point. ESPN's default is full-point PPR, Yahoo's is .5 PPR. The DFS games for the vast majority are either half or full point PPR. I'm sympathetic to those of you who would prefer standard rankings, so please, feel free to ask your questions in the comments regarding how a player might change in a standard scoring league. ****

***PLEASE READ, PART II - The masses (ok, the not-so-silent minority) have spoken, and you really want more representation for standard leagues too, so the Flex Rankings are now Standard scoring.***

Typically, this article will be posted on Tuesday evenings. ***These are not draft

I will update these during the week, usually twice per week to account for injury or other news during practice. The timing of those updates will vary based on the news at hand and my schedule for the given week. But the first of those updates usually won't happen until Thursday. At any rate, I will post a "last updated" note at the top of the article, or an "update in progress" note if it's while I'm doing it. If there is no such note, that means it's my first pass at the rankings for this current week.

By all means, if you want to discuss a rank, or want me to add a player, chime in on the comments. I try to be receptive to your feedback and try to respond to most comments, though on occasion the volume can be quite thick. This first week in particular, but in other weeks as well, I will change ranks according to injuries and sometimes even a change of heart. Please refer to the rankings first when asking "should I start Player A vs. Player B?". And then refer to the rankings again before asking a generic starting decision question. If you really desire a response to a starting question that doesn't have added complexity, please use our Ask An Expert service - it comes with your subscription. Otherwise, my response will correspond with the rankings. If I rank one player before another, that's how I plan on making my starting decisions.

Quarterback

1.Patrick Mahomes KC vs. Den
2.Jared Goff LA vs. GB
3.*Aaron Rodgers GB at LAR
Note: (Knee) Not spotted at the early portion of Tuesday's practice. An official injury report won't come out until Wednesday. Full practice Wednesday, and he's wearing a smaller brace on his knee than he did before the bye week.
4.Kirk Cousins MIN vs. NO
5.Ben Roethlisberger PIT vs. Cle
6.Drew Brees NO at Min
7.Jameis Winston TB at Cin
8.Andrew Luck IND at Oak
Note: The level of the blowout against the Bills negated his need to throw the ball much last week, especially in the second half. He should be more active this week, though now the Colts have a good running game to complement him.
9.Tom Brady NE at Buf
10.Russell Wilson SEA at Det
11.Andy Dalton CIN vs. TB
12.*Deshaun Watson HOU vs. Mia
Note: Forced to take a bus to Jacksonville last week to protect his partially collapsed lung, but he's expected to get clearance to fly for Week 9.
13.*Carson Wentz PHI at Jax
Note: (Back) Limited practice Wednesday. ***Facing a Jaguars secondary that's down three corners.***
14.Case Keenum DEN at KC
Note: Kevin Hogan is now the backup now that Chad Kelly has been released.
15.Matthew Stafford DET vs. Sea
16.Mitchell Trubisky CHI vs. NYJ
Note: Put up a monster fantasy day, but a pretty rough real life day, at least in terms of throwing the ball.
17.*Cam Newton CAR vs. Bal
Note: Newton was limited at Wednesday's practice with a sore right shoulder, though he's expected to play Sunday against the Ravens. If you recall, this was a constant status for him in the first half of last season when he frequently struggled. ***Removed from the final injury report.***
18.Joe Flacco BAL at Car
19.Baker Mayfield CLE at Pit
20.*Derek Carr OAK vs. Ind
Note: Full practice Wednesday after suffering a minor injury to his left arm in the London game.
21.Alex Smith WAS at NYG
22.C.J. Beathard SF at Ari
Note: Has now committed 10 turnovers in four games (seven INT's, three fumbles).
23.Sam Darnold NYJ at Chi
Note: Really struggled against the Vikings, and the wind, in the Week 7 loss.
24.*Blake Bortles JAC vs. Phi
Note: Will get the start again this week despite getting pulled for Cody Kessler last week, but he's 'on thin ice,' and Kessler will get some first-team reps in practice.
25.*Eli Manning NYG vs. Was
Note: It's never good when the team has to confirm that the QB is still the starter, but that's what the Giants had to do this week.
26.*Brock Osweiler MIA at Hou
Note: Osweiler will get another shot this week and wasn't half-bad in the loss to the Lions - 7.7 yards per attempt, no turnovers. But he'll also be without Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson.
27.*Josh Rosen ARZ vs. SF
Note: Sat out practice Monday with a sprained toe, but later was able to get rid of his walking boot. He's expected to start this week under new offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich. Returned to practice on Wednesday.
28.*Derek Anderson BUF vs. NE
Note: Getting the start again this week against the Pats despite the collapse last week against the Colts. ***(Back/Calf) Cleared to go for Monday night.***
29.*Cody Kessler JAC vs. Phi
Note: Won't start but will get some first-team reps in practice this week.
30.*Mike Glennon ARZ vs. SF
31.*Ryan Tannehill MIA at Hou
Note: (Shoulder) Cleared to begin light throwing, but he's already ruled out for Thursday's game.
32.*Josh Allen BUF vs. NE
Note: (Elbow) Ruled out this week.

Running Backs

1.Todd Gurley LA vs. GB
2.Kareem Hunt KC vs. Den
3.Saquon Barkley NYG vs. Was
4.Alvin Kamara NO at Min
5.*James White NE at Buf
Note: Got 11 carries last week in addition to all of his work on passing downs with Michel injured, and Michel is considered week-to-week.
6.*James Conner PIT vs. Cle
Note: Looks like he'll get another week at least as the Steelers' starter.
7.David Johnson ARZ vs. SF
Note: Will new OC Byron Leftwich do a better job of finding Johnson in space?
8.Christian McCaffrey CAR vs. Bal
Note: Hasn't had a red zone carry since Week 3.
9.Nick Chubb CLE at Pit
10.Joe Mixon CIN vs. TB
11.*Latavius Murray MIN vs. NO
Note: Dalvin Cook is likely to miss another game, giving Murray another start.
12.Kerryon Johnson DET vs. Sea
Note: Fantastic as the feature back against Miami, and did get the first carry inside the five on one series before Blount finished it off with a touchdown on the next play.
13.*Phillip Lindsay DEN at KC
Note: ***Should get a pretty heavy workload with Royce Freeman ruled out.***
14.Chris Carson SEA at Det
15.Mark Ingram NO at Min
16.Tarik Cohen CHI vs. NYJ
17.*Adrian Peterson WAS at NYG
Note: Got a regular day off Wednesday to rest his ankle and shoulder - this will likely be the usual procedure each week. ***Removed from the injury list.***
18.Kenyan Drake MIA at Hou
Note: Still managed to get only six carries despite breaking off a 54-yarder early in which he dragged a defender into the end zone.
19.Lamar Miller HOU vs. Mia
20.*Marlon Mack IND at Oak
Note: Second big game in a row, and this time his production came before garbage time commenced. (Ankle) Limited practice Wednesday, no practice Thursday. At this point I have to downgrade him about 10 spots even if he does play. ***Full practice Friday, has a 'good shot' to play Sunday despite being listed as questionable.***
21.Jordan Howard CHI vs. NYJ
22.*Isaiah Crowell NYJ at Chi
Note: (Foot/ankle) Full practice Wednesday.
23.*Raheem Mostert SF at Ari
Note: Took over the lead back duties last week after Matt Breida got hurt again and was considerably more effective than Alfred Morris. ***Breida is expected to play but will be limited, so Mostert goes down a few slots.***
24.*T.J. Yeldon JAC vs. Phi
Note: ***Officially the starter this week, though Hyde will play.***
25.*Chris Thompson WAS at NYG
Note: (Ribs/Knee) Limited practice Wednesday, increased activity in Thursday's practice - all signs point to him playing this week. ***Expected to play.***
26.*Wendell Smallwood PHI at Jax
Note: Returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday to attend to a personal matter.
27.Aaron Jones GB at LAR
Note: While many 'Free Player X' campaigns are overwrought, yeah, Free Aaron Jones.
28.*Doug Martin OAK vs. Ind
Note: Likely starter with Lynch out, but I think Richard will end up being more valuable. Referred to as the Raiders' 'feature back' by coach Jon Gruden. As a result I've begrudgingly flip-flopped he and Richard in the ratings.
29.*Peyton Barber TB at Cin
Note: Coach Dirk Koetter admitted that Barber suffered an injury against Cleveland but wouldn't disclose what it is, saying that will come on Wednesday. Sat out practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, participated in limited form on Thursday. ***Full practice Friday, removed from the injury list.***
30.Alex Collins BAL at Car
31.*Jalen Richard OAK vs. Ind
Note: Will be playing a bigger role this week with Lynch out, though Doug Martin will probably be the starter and will get the between-the-tackles carries. I view this as similar to the Denver RB situation, but worse.
32.*Carlos Hyde JAC vs. Phi
Note: Going to be a tough call to see how much the Jaguars work Hyde in after deactivating him last week following the trade.
33.Frank Gore MIA at Hou
34.*Duke Johnson CLE at Pit
Note: Increased role never materialized - he had but one carry and four targets last week, despite the Browns playing yet another overtime game.
35.*Matt Breida SF at Ari
Note: Aggravated his ankle injury on his first carry of the day last week - the presumption here will be that he can't go, though I got burned with that in the Monday night game against the Packers. Ankle has improved, but he was held from Wednesday's practice. ***Expected to play, but will be limited.***
36.Ty Montgomery GB at LAR
37.Corey Clement PHI at Jax
38.Nyheim Hines IND at Oak
39.*LeSean McCoy BUF vs. NE
Note: In the concussion protocol and also appeared to suffer a lower-leg injury. The Bills don't play until Monday, so he gets another day to recover. Still in the concussion protocol on Thursday but practicing on a limited basis. ***Officially still in the concussion protocol as of late Saturday, yet expected to play.***
40.LeGarrette Blount DET vs. Sea
Note: It's hard to argue with teams using Blount as the TD-vulture when he's so good at it, and when he still nets 50 yards on 10 carries.
41.*Devontae Booker DEN at KC
Note: ***More touches likely with Freeman ruled out.***
42.*Kenjon Barner NE at Buf
Note: Up to No. 2 on the depth chart with Sony Michel presumably out this week.
43.*Rashaad Penny SEA at Det
Note: (Finger) Limited at Wednesday's practice. ***Full practice Thursday.***
44.*Ronald Jones II TB at Cin
Note: Bumping up with the injury speculation on Barber. Took most of the RB reps at Wednesday's practice. ***Barber practiced Friday and will play.***
45.Jamaal Williams GB at LAR
46.*Chris Ivory BUF vs. NE
Note: Dealing with an unspecified injury - believed to be a lower leg issue - but it's expected to be minor. (Hamstring) Limited at the Bills' first practice of the week on Thursday. At least he's participating, but with hamstring injuries you never quite know. ***Cleared to play, but McCoy is now also expected to play.***
47.Malcolm Brown LA vs. GB
48.*Javorius Allen BAL at Car
Note: Buried the last two weeks in the running game.
49.Wayne Gallman NYG vs. Was
50.Marcus Murphy BUF vs. NE
51.Alfred Blue HOU vs. Mia
52.Mike Davis SEA at Det
53.*Kapri Bibbs WAS at NYG
Note: Filled in nicely last week as the pass-catching back with Chris Thompson out last week.
54.*Jacquizz Rodgers TB at Cin
Note: Bumping up with the injury speculation on Barber.
55.Alfred Morris SF at Ari
56.*Tyler Ervin HOU vs. Mia
Note: Likely to line up in the slot with Keke Coutee already declared out.
57.Josh Adams PHI at Jax
58.C.J. Anderson CAR vs. Bal
59.Spencer Ware KC vs. Den
60.Mark Walton CIN vs. TB
Note: Third down role while Gio out never really materialized.
61.Chase Edmonds ARZ vs. SF
62.Jordan Wilkins IND at Oak
63.*Trenton Cannon NYJ at Chi
Note: Did a nice job as the pass-catching back after Powell left with an injury last week.
64.*DeAndre Washington OAK vs. Ind
Note: Expected to make his 2018 debut with Marshawn Lynch going on IR.
65.*Royce Freeman DEN at KC
Note: (Ankle) Sat out practice both Wednesday and Thursday - disturbing given that the Broncos had three extra days of rest following the Thursday game. ***Ruled out for this week.***
66.*Dalvin Cook MIN vs. NO
Note: (Hamstring) Sat out practice again Wednesday and is unlikely to play again this week. ***Officially ruled out.***
67.*Theo Riddick DET vs. Sea
Note: (Knee) Limited to individual drills Wednesday, did not practice Thursday. ***Ruled out again this week.***
68.*Sony Michel NE at Buf
Note: Suffered a knee injury early in the win over the Bears and is considered week-to-week. The good news is that Monday's MRI revealed 'no structural damage.' Did not practice Thursday. ***Limited practice Saturday, but still not expected to play.***
69.*Darren Sproles PHI at Jax
Note: (Hamstring) Officially out again this week.
70.*Giovani Bernard CIN vs. TB
Note: (Knee) Did not practice Wednesday or Thursday. ***Ruled out again this week.***
71.*D'Onta Foreman HOU vs. Mia
72.*Leonard Fournette JAC vs. Phi
Note: (Hamstring) Missed practice Wednesday and Thursday - with the Jags on bye next week, it's highly doubtful that he plays. ***INACTIVE.***
73.*Le'Veon Bell PIT vs. Cle
Note: Not expected to report to the Steelers this week after all. Officially declared out for Week 8.
74.*Marshawn Lynch OAK vs. Ind
Note: Placed on IR with a groin/core muscle injury.
75.*Bilal Powell NYJ at Chi
Note: Left early last week with a neck injury. Out for the season after needing neck surgery - will likely be out 10-to-12 months.

28.Michael Crabtree BAL at Car

30.Devin Funchess CAR vs. Bal
31.*DeSean Jackson TB at Cin
Note: ***Recently put in a trade request, but the Bucs have declined to pursue it so far.***

Note: Should be targeted more with Cooper gone.

Note: Would have scored on a better throw from Trubisky on a play that instead was intercepted.
44.*Will Fuller HOU vs. Mia
Note: (Hip) Full practice all week, good to go for Thursday night.
45.Nelson Agholor PHI at Jax
46.*Danny Amendola MIA at Hou
Note: (Shoulder) Limited in Tuesday's practice. If he goes, he could be targeted frequently with Stills and Wilson out.

49.*Jordy Nelson OAK vs. Ind
Note: Should be targeted more with Cooper gone.
50.*Larry Fitzgerald ARZ vs. SF
Note: (Hamstring) Held out of practice Wednesday.

Note: Some dispute about his quad injury - was scratched for last week, but his agent claimed that he was healthy. Nonetheless, he's expected to play this week.

Note: Right there with Cam Meredith for bust of the week. ***Back to the well? Robby Anderson is considered doubtful.***

Note: (Hamstring) Participated in Tuesday's practice. Limited Wednesday but on course to play this week. ***Listed as questionable, still expected to play.***
54.Chris Hogan NE at Buf
55.*Adam Humphries TB at Cin
Note: Humphries is one of those guys I always seem to get wrong, but he could get a lot of slot targets against the Bengals' lower-echelon corners this week with Darqueze Dennard out.
56.Kelvin Benjamin BUF vs. NE
57.D.J. Moore CAR vs. Bal
58.Antonio Callaway CLE at Pit
Note: Only two targets despite the Browns playing overtime again, and trailing most of the game.
59.Chris Conley KC vs. Den
60.Zach Pascal IND at Oak
61.*Geronimo Allison GB at LAR
Note: (Hamstring) Participated in Tuesday's practice. Limited practice Wednesday, but expected to return this week. ***Officially cleared to return.***

Note: (Groin) Held out of practice Wednesday and Thursday. ***Not expected to play.***
83.*Robby Anderson NYJ at Chi
Note: Quiet output, but had 10 targets in the wake of Quincy Enunwa's injury. Consider that a symptom of Sam Darnold's tough day dealing with the wind. Has been held out of practice this week with a mid-ankle sprain. ***Considered doubtful.***

20.Dallas Goedert PHI at Jax
21.Cameron Brate TB at Cin

40.Stefon Diggs MIN vs. NO
41.Tyler Lockett SEA at Det
42.George Kittle SF at Ari
43.*Rob Gronkowski NE at Buf
Note: Back spasms cropped up Friday, which kept him out last week. Keep in mind that the Pats don't play until Monday this week. Limited practice Thursday with a back and ankle issue, the back being the more pressing one for now. ***Intends to play, though he's listed as questionable.***
44.Trey Burton CHI vs. NYJ
45.Kenyan Drake MIA at Hou
Note: Still managed to get only six carries despite breaking off a 54-yarder early in which he dragged a defender into the end zone.
46.*Adrian Peterson WAS at NYG
Note: Got a regular day off Wednesday to rest his ankle and shoulder - this will likely be the usual procedure each week. ***Removed from the injury list.***
47.Jordan Howard CHI vs. NYJ
48.Lamar Miller HOU vs. Mia
49.*Marlon Mack IND at Oak
Note: Second big game in a row, and this time his production came before garbage time commenced. (Ankle) Limited practice Wednesday, no practice Thursday. At this point I have to downgrade him about 10 spots even if he does play. ***Full practice Friday, has a 'good shot' to play Sunday despite being listed as questionable.***
50.Sterling Shepard NYG vs. Was
51.*Doug Martin OAK vs. Ind
Note: Likely starter with Lynch out, but I think Richard will end up being more valuable. Referred to as the Raiders' 'feature back' by coach Jon Gruden. As a result I've begrudgingly flip-flopped he and Richard in the ratings.
52.Chris Godwin TB at Cin
53.Taylor Gabriel CHI vs. NYJ
54.Michael Crabtree BAL at Car
55.*Josh Gordon NE at Buf
Note: (Hamstring) Typical limited practice in first outing of the week. Played 95% of the Pats' snaps last week. ***Limited practice all week, expected to play despite being listed as questionable.***
56.Devin Funchess CAR vs. Bal
57.*Jimmy Graham GB at LAR
Note: (Knee) Limited practice Wednesday. ***Removed from the injury report.***
58.*Eric Ebron IND at Oak
Note: ***Moved down a few notches with Jack Doyle cleared to play.***
59.*David Njoku CLE at Pit
Note: (Knee) Limited practice Wednesday. ***Cleared from the injury report.***
60.Tarik Cohen CHI vs. NYJ
61.*DeSean Jackson TB at Cin
Note: ***Recently put in a trade request, but the Bucs have declined to pursue it so far.***
62.Christian Kirk ARZ vs. SF
63.*Demaryius Thomas DEN at KC
Note: Rumors abound that Thomas is on the trade block.
64.Jared Cook OAK vs. Ind
65.*Isaiah Crowell NYJ at Chi
Note: (Foot/ankle) Full practice Wednesday.
66.*Raheem Mostert SF at Ari
Note: Took over the lead back duties last week after Matt Breida got hurt again and was considerably more effective than Alfred Morris. ***Breida is expected to play but will be limited, so Mostert goes down a few slots.***
67.*Wendell Smallwood PHI at Jax
Note: Returned to practice Thursday after missing Wednesday to attend to a personal matter.
68.*Peyton Barber TB at Cin
Note: Coach Dirk Koetter admitted that Barber suffered an injury against Cleveland but wouldn't disclose what it is, saying that will come on Wednesday. Sat out practice Wednesday with an ankle injury, participated in limited form on Thursday. ***Full practice Friday, removed from the injury list.***
69.*Carlos Hyde JAC vs. Phi
Note: Going to be a tough call to see how much the Jaguars work Hyde in after deactivating him last week following the trade.
70.Marquise Goodwin SF at Ari
71.Dede Westbrook JAC vs. Phi
72.Chester Rogers IND at Oak
73.Tre'Quan Smith NO at Min
74.*Jakeem Grant MIA at Hou
Note: Potential big role with all the Miami WR injuries.
75.Aaron Jones GB at LAR
Note: While many 'Free Player X' campaigns are overwrought, yeah, Free Aaron Jones.
76.Alex Collins BAL at Car
77.Marvin Jones DET vs. Sea
78.*Martavis Bryant OAK vs. Ind
Note: Should be targeted more with Cooper gone.
79.Keelan Cole JAC vs. Phi
80.*Jalen Richard OAK vs. Ind
Note: Will be playing a bigger role this week with Lynch out, though Doug Martin will probably be the starter and will get the between-the-tackles carries. I view this as similar to the Denver RB situation, but worse.
81.Sammy Watkins KC vs. Den
82.Anthony Miller CHI vs. NYJ
Note: Would have scored on a better throw from Trubisky on a play that instead was intercepted.
83.*Will Fuller HOU vs. Mia
Note: (Hip) Full practice all week, good to go for Thursday night.
84.*LeSean McCoy BUF vs.
85.*T.J. Yeldon JAC vs. Phi
Note: ***Officially the starter this week, though Hyde will play.***
86.Frank Gore MIA at Hou
87.Vance McDonald PIT vs. Cle
88.*Greg Olsen CAR vs. Bal
Note: (Foot) Limited practices Wednesday and Thursday. ***Full practice Friday.***
89.Jordan Reed WAS at NYG
90.*Duke Johnson CLE at Pit
Note: Increased role never materialized - he had but one carry and four targets last week, despite the Browns playing yet another overtime game.
91.Ty Montgomery GB at LAR
92.Jermaine Kearse NYJ at Chi
Note: Right there with Cam Meredith for bust of the week. ***Back to the well? Robby Anderson is considered doubtful.***
93.Corey Clement PHI at Jax
94.Nelson Agholor PHI at Jax
95.*Danny Amendola MIA at Hou
Note: (Shoulder) Limited in Tuesday's practice. If he goes, he could be targeted frequently with Stills and Wilson out.
96.*Courtland Sutton DEN at KC
Note: Prospects would improve obviously if Thomas gets dealt.
97.*Ronald Jones II TB at Cin
Note: Bumping up with the injury speculation on Barber. Took most of the RB reps at Wednesday's practice. ***Barber practiced Friday and will play.***
98.*Matt Breida SF at Ari
Note: Aggravated his ankle injury on his first carry of the day last week - the presumption here will be that he can't go, though I got burned with that in the Monday night game against the Packers. Ankle has improved, but he was held from Wednesday's practice. ***Expected to play, but will be limited.***
99.*Kenjon Barner NE at Buf
Note: Up to No. 2 on the depth chart with Sony Michel presumably out this week.
100.*Chris Ivory BUF vs.
101.*Adam Humphries TB at Cin
Note: Humphries is one of those guys I always seem to get wrong, but he could get a lot of slot targets against the Bengals' lower-echelon corners this week with Darqueze Dennard out.

Kickers

1.Harrison Butker KC vs. Den
Note: First miss of the year - from 53 yards out, into the wind.
2.Greg Zuerlein LA vs. GB
3.Stephen Gostkowski NE at Buf
4.Justin Tucker BAL at Car
Note: First missed extra-point ever.
5.Jake Elliott PHI at Jax
6.Graham Gano CAR vs. Bal
Note: Has now missed extra-point attempts in consecutive games. Wind wreaked havoc on a number of good kickers last week.
7.Wil Lutz NO at Min
8.Dan Bailey MIN vs. NO
9.Matt Prater DET vs. Sea
10.Ka'imi Fairbairn HOU vs. Mia
11.Chris Boswell PIT vs. Cle
12.Randy Bullock CIN vs. TB
13.Mason Crosby GB at LAR
14.Aldrick Rosas NYG vs. Was
15.Sebastian Janikowski SEA at Det
16.Chandler Catanzaro TB at Cin
Note: Nailed a game-winning 59-yarder, after missing a potential game-winning 40-yarder and an extra point earlier.
17.Cody Parkey CHI vs. NYJ
Note: Provided the comic relief of the weekend with his diving attempt to tackle Cordarelle Patterson on Patterson's kickoff return TD.
18.Josh Lambo JAC vs. Phi
19.*Adam Vinatieri IND at Oak
Note: Dealing with a groin injury - I'm expecting him to miss the game, hence the low ranking for now. Missed practice Wednesday, limited practice Thursday. ***Full practice Friday, expected to play.***
20.Brandon McManus DEN at KC
21.Robbie Gould SF at Ari
22.*Daniel Carlson OAK vs. Ind
Note: Signed by the Raiders, replacing Matt McCrane.
23.Dustin Hopkins WAS at NYG
24.*Phil Dawson ARZ vs. SF
Note: ***(Hip) Listed as questionable, but trending in the right direction.***
25.Greg Joseph CLE at Pit
26.Jason Myers NYJ at Chi
27.Jason Sanders MIA at Hou
28.Stephen Hauschka BUF vs. NE

Defenses

1.Houston Texans vs. Mia
Note: Miami is missing three OL, two WR, and its starting QB (though the value of that is somewhat dubious), Houston is home on short rest, and they're playing great.
2.New England Patriots at Buf
Note: Automatic defense against the Bills start.
3.Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cle
Note: Again, Baker Mayfield is a good source of turnovers, and PIT's defense is actually playing well now.
4.Baltimore Ravens at Car
5.*Philadelphia Eagles at Jax
Note: Excited to face whichever QB Jacksonville ponies up. But they'll have to do so without Derek Barnett, who is out with a torn rotator cuff.
6.*Chicago Bears vs. NYJ
Note: ***Khalil Mack (ankle) INACTIVE this week.***
7.Arizona Cardinals vs. SF
Note: Seems high, but Beathard is a turnover machine right now. Good streaming target, should be available after the Thursday night shellacking.
8.*Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Phi
Note: Four defensive players - Barry Church, D.J. Hayden, Jarrod Wilson, Ronnie Harrison - arrested over payment of a bill at a nightclub late in London on Saturday night / Sunday morning. Also, A.J. Bouye is out with a calf injury.
9.Carolina Panthers vs. Bal
10.Indianapolis Colts at Oak
11.Kansas City Chiefs vs. Den
12.Washington Redskins at NYG
13.Detroit Lions vs. Sea
14.New York Jets at Chi
15.Los Angeles Rams vs. GB
16.Cincinnati Bengals vs. TB
17.*New York Giants vs. Was
Note: Let the firesale begin - Eli Apple was traded to the Saints.
18.Miami Dolphins at Hou
19.Seattle Seahawks at Det
20.*Minnesota Vikings vs. NO
Note: Should get Everson Griffen back this week.
21.Buffalo Bills vs. NE
22.New Orleans Saints at Min
23.San Francisco 49ers at Ari
Note: It's tempting to put them higher against the woeful Cards' offense, but does anyone on the Niners' defense scare you like Von Miller did last week?
24.Cleveland Browns at Pit
25.Denver Broncos at KC
Note: Very good defense, but buried because of the matchup on the road.
26.Oakland Raiders vs. Ind
27.Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Cin
28.Green Bay Packers at LAR
