ANALYSIS
Hayden was with Jacksonville from 2018-2020, appearing in 30 games. However, he didn't make an NFL roster to start the 2021 campaign. He was signed to Washington's practice squad in December, but he appeared in just one game for the Commanders -- Week 16 against Dallas -- and played 11 total snaps (four defensive).

Hayden, who’s looking to resuscitate his career in Detroit after busting as a first-rounder in Oakland, looks to be the favorite for the top backup role to starters Darius Slay and Nevin Lawson. Second-round rookie Teez Tabor should apply pressure in due time, but for now he doesn’t seem to be a legitimate threat to pass Hayden on the depth chart. Unfortunately, this job -- which is essentially the Lions’ No. 4 CB -- likely won’t present many opportunities for Hayden to rack up the counting stats.
