Third-string TE Tommy Tremble got one target on eight snaps. He may be the second-stringer now, after the Panthers traded Dan Arnold to the Jaguars on Monday. Don't get your hopes up for Thomas; we saw last year that snaps and routes won't lead to targets and yards.
Anderson has the same number of targets as Arnold and three fewer than No. 3 receiver Marshall. On the other hand, Anderson's aDOT is back up to his Jets-years level (18.4), so perhaps there's hidden potential if he can keep the deep work and regain some of last year's volume on short throws. That didn't happen Thursday, even with Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) missing the final 40 minutes of the game.
Moore, however, is thriving, with 30.7% target share and 40.7% air-yard share. Plus he's taken two carries and a punt return; the only thing missing is touchdowns; he has one on 22 catches, and now just 11 on 230 career receptions. This type of usage makes TDs inevitable, unless he truly has the Julio gene*.

Don't discount the possibility of Cooks finishing a game with more than 100% of team air yards. He's really the only guy worth throwing to beyond the line of scrimmage.
At 56.7 percent, Cooks is the only player in the league with more than half his team's air yards. He's second in raw air yards (415) and target share (37.6%), with usage that basically demands WR2-type production in even the worst environment.
- Then again, Cooks has a 71.9% catch rate and 10.1 YPT. Even if he maintains the gargantuan usage, there's no way he keeps up those efficiency numbers on this team.
Miller went 4-20-1 on six targets in his season debut, taking 69% of his snaps in the slot. He was filling in for Danny Amendola, who missed the game with a thigh injury. And rookie WR Nico Collins (shoulder) is on injured reserve, out through at least Week 3.
Pretty sure I still have Jordan Akins at the bottom of a dynasty roster somewhere. Anyone buying?

Byrd ran ahead of Goodwin as the No. 3 receiver for the first time this year. Not that it really matters one way or the other.
Jimmy Graham played 16.7% of snaps and ran five routes with one target. This is the last we mention him until something changes (unless I already said that last week, then forgot, and am now mentioning him again...my bad).
Kmet is looking similar to late last season... a lot of playing time, an okay number of targets, and very little production. He's at 7-53-0 on 12 targets, but he did jump to 96% of snaps this week, up from 72% and 74% the first two games. Hope?
If you're looking for a silver lining, Robinson's target share (25.3%) is down just one-tenth of a percentage point from last season (25.4%). But the Bears are a mess, and his already-lowish aDOT (9.5 last year) has dropped even further to 7.5.
I think Robinson and Mooney need Andy Dalton back, as bad as that sounds.

While he didn't quite handle a full snap workload (62.8%) in his 2021 debut, Beckham was on the field for the vast majority of Cleveland's pass attempts, running a team-high 29 routes on Baker Mayfield's 36 dropbacks. Beckham caught five of his nine targets for 77 yards, adding one carry for 10 yards.
Hooper, Njoku and Bryant each ran a route on less than half of Mayfield's dropbacks. That's becoming the usual.
Peoples-Jones has been targeted on four of 68 routes (5.9%). But hey, he's run a route on a team-high 76.4% of Mayfield's dropbacks, with Hooper (52.8%) the only other player above half.

You probably saw already, but Brown dropped one definite TD and two potential scores. He finished with 3-53-0 on seven targets, though Lamar Jackson tried to give his No. 1 receiver another big stat line.
Andrews finally had a big game, albeit without a touchdown. He's run a route on 82.1% of Baltimore's QB dropbacks, up from 70.7% last season. However, he could lose a few snaps and routes whenever Nick Boyle (IR - knee) is ready. Boyle technically can come back as soon as Week 4, which might also take snaps away from Duvernay (who has seen just five targets on 50 routes anyway).
Watkins still doesn't have a TD or a 100-yard game, but the volume certainly is there. He's run a route on a team-high 89.4% of dropbacks, and his 27.2% target share is narrowly behind Brown's 28.4% (Andrews is at 21.0%).

Raymond now has 16 targets and 71.7% snap share through three weeks. This may be his season high for volume, but who's to say it'll be him rather than Cephus who loses a starting job if/when Tyrell Williams (concussion) returns?
The Hockenson dud is just a reminder that nobody is ever a "lock" for X number of targets. I'm sure the Lions wanted him to get 8-10 looks, but it becomes harder when the defense can focus on him because Raymond and Cephus are the starting wideouts.
- Hockenson is now at 17.6% target share, second on the team to RB D'Andre Swift (19.3%).
Trinity Benson has four targets and one catch on 48 snaps over the past two weeks. He saw six targets in the season opener.

Herbert is averaging 42.0 pass attempts, up from 39.7 last year. The Chargers rank fifth in pass attempts (126) and 24th in rush attempts (70), though all their games have been close.
Williams is the fifth-year breakout to end all fifth-year breakouts. Just remember that Keenan Allen is still Keenan Allen and leads the team in target share.
Cook is third on the team with 16 targets, but it works out to only 13.2% share, with Allen hogging 27.3% and Williams at 25.6%. Plus, Austin Ekeler's 12.4% figures to grow.
- There's still a strong buy-low argument, imo. We know Cook isn't bad, and we know the Chargers can score points. He'll have fantasy value eventually if he continues averaging 28.3 routes per game in this offense. Right?
Williams can be for real and still lose some of his early volume to Cook/Ekeler.

Hardman scored his first TD of the season and caught three of four targets for 33 yards, but his playing time (65.8%) was down a bit compared to Weeks 1 (69%) and 2 (78%), plus the Chiefs apparently are signing Josh Gordon.
- I'm not sure Gordon has anything left or will even remain eligible, but it's possible the Chiefs envision him and Robinson splitting snaps while Hardman is more strictly the No. 3 receiver.
Hardman's slot rate hasn't changed much; it's been around 50% of snaps every week. The Chiefs use Hill inside a lot, so their No. 3 receiver will never be a strict slot specialist, even if some might argue that's the best role for Hardman (not sure I'd agree, but it's a thing people say).

Zaccheaus was the clear No. 2 receiver with Russell Gage (ankle) inactive. Zaccheaus played 42.5% of his snaps in the slot, while Pitts took 49.0% of his there. Ridley lined up on the perimeter 86.0% of the time; about the same as Weeks 1 and 2 (91.1%).
Ridley has 24.8% target share and 47.5% air-yard share through three games. But that's 47.5% of not a whole lot, with Matt Ryan sporting the second-shallowest aDOT (4.6) in the league in his first (and last?) year working with new Falcons coach Arthur Smith. (Ryan had an 8.7 aDOT last year, ninth-deepest among qualified QBs).
Ridley's aDOT is 8.8, down from 14.9 last year. He won't stay below 10 yards per catch all year, but it is possible he's closer to that than to 15, given how conservative Atlanta's passing game looks. Ridley averaged 15.3 YPC in 2020, up significantly from 2018 (12.8) and 2019 (13.7).
Pitts is at 14.5% target share and 24.6% air-yard share. You'd expect more given that he's run 101 routes, easily second most on the team, except that RBs Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson have combined for 33 targets (28.2% of the team total). Better days ahead... or so I'll tell myself for a couple more weeks. Actually, I didn't touch him in redraft; what do I care?

Engram finished second on the team in targets in his season debut, getting more work than expected due to the injuries.
- Rudolph and Kaden Smith combined for 12 routes and one target. Engram had 24 and six, respectively.
Golladay played through a hip injury. Given the other injuries, he might've seen double-digit targets if he'd actually been healthy.
After halftime, Johnson played 84.8% of snaps, Toney got 81.8%, Golladay took 72.7% and Engram had 48.5%. Only Johnson saw more than two targets in the second half; finishing his day with 5-51-0 from seven targets and just 17 routes.
- Johnson is a 6-foot-6, 2020 fifth-round pick who was claimed when the Jaguars waived him at the end of the preseason. I like him; not sure why.

Hopkins took on his usual snap count, despite being a game-time decision. While the rib injury gives him a free pass for his 21-yard performance against the Jaguars, we can't ignore that Hopkins has only 18 targets through three weeks. His target share (18.0%) will rise above 20 percent in time, but it may settle in well below last year's mark of 29.4%, considering Green, Kirk and Moore are healthy and contributing.
The Cardinals have 100 team targets this year, with five players between 15 and 18. It's the four wide receivers, plus Chase Edmonds (17). And Williams (11) isn't too far behind, though he got seven of his looks in one game.
Hopkins has run a team-high 102 routes, followed by Green (93), Kirk (75), Williams (63) and Moore (49). Yup, Williams has run 14 more routes than Moore, logging 80, 74 and 76 percent of snaps through three weeks.

- The Jags acquired Dan Arnold from the Panthers on Monday as part of a deal that sent CB CJ Henderson (a 2019 first-round pick) to Carolina. Meanwhile, TE James O'Shaughnessy (IR - ankle) is out through at least Week 5 and likely longer with a high ankle sprain.
Jones leads the team in target share (24.3%), followed by Chark (19.1%), Shenault (18.3%) and James Robinson (13.0%).
Chark has a narrow air yards lead over Jones, 356 to 356. Jones is at 12.6 aDOT; Chark at 16.2
- Trevor Lawrence has completed six of 16 passes 20-plus yard downfield, but with three interceptions to go with three TDs. He's 3-for-5 on deep throws to Chark, and 2-for-5 looking to Jones, per PFF. The three INTs have actually come on deep throws to Shenault, Tyron Johnson and Luke Farrell.

- Sims took a little more playing time from Brown in this one, but neither is getting targets as the fill-in No. 2.
Fantasy managers got lucky with Ron Rivera in this one. Down by 28 points, he sent McLaurin, Thomas and Antonio Gibson back on the field for a lengthy fourth-quarter drive. McLaurin had a 37-yard gain, Thomas a two-yard TD, Gibson four touches for 14 yards.
Thomas has an every-down role and a pair of TDs already, but his 15.9% target share is less than expected, especially with Samuel on the shelf.
- Thomas has been targeted on one-sixth (16.7%) of his routes, 14 of 84. Adam Humphries actually has the same number of targets on 14 fewer routes.

Sitting on a lead all day, the Bills didn't have much need for No. 4 receiver Davis. He's seen just one target the past two weeks in easy wins, after putting up 2-40-1 on five targets in the Week 1 loss to Pittsburgh.
- With Beasley in the slot and Sanders looking far from washed up, Davis won't necessarily improve on last year's 62 targets. He's on pace for 34.
Diggs is at 26.4% target share, Beasley at 24.8%, Sanders at 16.5%, Knox at 9.9%, Davis at 5.0%.
- Diggs, Beasley and Sanders all have run routes on at least 87 percent of Josh Allen's dropbacks this year. There's potential for a trio of 1,000-yard seasons here, especially with Davis doing so little.
Knox has two TDs this year, and he's run a route on 61.8% of Allen's dropbacks. He's at least on the streaming radar.
Diggs is tied for third in the NFL with seven targets 20-plus yards downfield. He's caught just one, but the volume is encouraging after he averaged just one of those per game last season (16 in 16 games). Diggs probably has a 9-170-2 type day coming up pretty soon here.

Freiermuth saw a new high of five targets and scored his first touchdown, but his snap share slipped to 36%, down from 50% and 59% the previous two weeks. Despite the WR injuries, Pittsburgh didn't make multi-TE formations a bigger part of the offense Sunday, in part because they were playing from behind.
- Freiermuth does have 10 targets on 54 routes (18.5%), while Ebron has seven on 69 (10.1%). And the rookie has caught eight of those 10 for 82 yards and a TD, while Ebron is sitting on 1-19-0.

#Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, who left Sunday's game with a rib injury, was diagnosed with bruised ribs, sources say. He's considered day-to-day after undergoing all tests and receiving negative results (negative is good).

Trailing for nearly the entire game, Indianapolis went heavy on three-wide sets and light on multi-TE formations. That also had to do with Campbell actually playing, after missing Week 2 with a minor abdomen injury.
- Campbell took 93.3% of his snaps on the perimeter, while Pascal took 84.0% of his snaps in the slot. Pittman was a bit more mixed - 77.4% wide, 22.6% slot.
Pittman is now up to 26.7% target share for the season, with a respectable 10.8 aDOT (there was some concern he'd only see short stuff). QB play is still a problem, but Pittman apparently will get at least one more week with T.Y. Hilton (IR - neck) out of the lineup.
- Pittman's 43.8% air-yard share is fourth-largest in the NFL. His 310 air yards are 19th most.
- He's even tied for 10th with six targets 20-plus yards downfield, including two receptions for 65 yards.
Pascal is second on the team with 18 targets (17.1%) and 170 air yards (24.7%). Nyheim Hines has 16 targets, Doyle has 14, and Jonathan Taylor has 11.

Don't think 27% target share and 43% AY share happen because your team loses a well-past-his-prime TY Hilton. Think the Colts view Pittman as their far-and-away No. 1. TBD if he's actually that guy.

A.J. Brown saw a screen pass and a deep look early on, but he left with a hamstring injury and didn't play after the first quarter.
- NWI (yes, I'm calling him that) filled in for Brown and put up 4-53-1 on four targets, while Julio was restricted to 15 routes on Ryan Tannehill's 28 dropbacks (53.6%).
Jones played 71.8% of snaps in the first half and only 21.4% in the second. No injury was reported, but that's what happened, even if it was just something minor. The game was too close to "rest" Jones, especially with AJB already out.
Brown has the most deep targets (six) without a deep-ball reception.

I can't find the clip, but my theory is that Julio tweaked something on the 4th down conversion yesterday.
He was knocked out of bounds and lands a bit awkwardly on his left knee, and immediately calls for a sub.
He played a few snaps after that, but his left knee was taped.

Juwan Johnson played only eight snaps. But it didn't really create an opening for Trautman, who gets more playing time when the Saints throw less. Both are interesting for dynasty only.
I still see hope for Callaway, though his pretty TD catch on a jump ball may have partially foiled "buy low" attempts. The Saints simply haven't thrown many passes; Callaway has 18.0% target share and 20.0% air-yard share. Granted, you were probably hoping for more than 18% while Michael Thomas (IR - ankle) is on the shelf. I avoided Callaway all summer, but the Saints will eventually need to throw, and he's probably the No. 3 guy (behind Kamara and Thomas) even after MT returns.

The Pats are basically doing the same thing with Smith the Titans did; he doesn't run many routes but is targeted on a high percentage of them. That doesn't usually work out for even the tightest of tight ends, so no wonder Smith's fantasy managers aren't feeling the love, oh Jonnu. (His two drops Sunday didn't help.)
Will Meyers get to 2,000 career receiving yards before he scores his first TD?
- No...but he is up to 1,264 now. (He does have two passing TDs… and a two-point conversion.)
Meyers has 11 more targets than any other Patriots. His 24.8% target share is well ahead of second-place Agholor (15.4%), though the latter has one more air yard. Agholor's aDOT is 15.8, while Meyers' is 9.8.
RB James White left with a hip injury and could miss multiple games. More short targets for... Meyers!
Bourne is really starting to find his Identity in this offense.

With Fuller (suspension/personal) making his season debut, Albert Wilson and Preston Williams both were healthy scratches. Parker and especially Waddle kept full-time roles, and Fuller ran as many routes as Gesicki. The usage was mostly good news for Waddle, but it also hints at multiple Miami wideouts being useful for fantasy if the offense can manage competence.
Waddle took 70.6% of his snaps in the slot. On the other hand, Parker was at 84.7% on the perimeter, and Fuller at 81.3%. (The slot work was nothing new; Waddle got 60.5% of his snaps there Weeks 1 and 2).
Waddle's weird stat line wasn't just a fluke. His aDOT for the season is 3.8, compared to 13.9 for Parker, 8.8 for Gesicki and 20.0 for Fuller. It's a little surprising given that Waddle is supposed to be one of the fastest players in the league, but fantasy managers can't complain too much when Miami is making this much of an effort to feed him snaps and targets. Especially in PPR leagues.
Waddle is now up to 23.3% target share, ahead of Parker (19.8%), Gesicki (17.2%) and Myles Gaskin (13.8%). I still think it's TBD on Waddle/Parker/Fuller as the No. 1 receiver, but I'm leaning Waddle after Week 3, seeing how he's the slot man in three-wide sets but also plays in other formations. The 13 targets were nice, too, and his safety only hurt if you were facing the Raiders defense (or rooting for Miami).

Ruggs also took a carry for seven yards and a kick return for 15 yards, giving him two of the latter and four of the former this season. That, plus 11-237-1 on 19 targets, but with hints of danger when we see Zay Jones still poaching some snaps/routes and Ruggs sitting at modest 14.7% target share for the season.
- That's not to totally discount the breakout odds; Ruggs is a first-round pick who clearly has improved since his rookie season. It would make sense to give him more snaps, and perhaps a larger target share, in response. But I'm not buying that he's good enough to reach 1,000+ yards while Jones is still taking one-fourth of his potential workload. Ruggs is someone I want on a bench, not in a lineup. At least not yet.

Jamison Crowder (groin) was out again. If he's smart, he'll keep coming up with injuries so he can get paid without playing for this team. And really, I don't blame him; it's dangerous to be the slot receiver for a QB as clueless as Zach Wilson. Berrios might lead the league in hospital balls per target.
TE Tyler Kroft left with a rib injury.
Elijah Moore suffered a concussion late in the game. He missed the fourth quarter, in which Berrios and Davis played 100% of snaps and Cole got 78.6%.
- Cole got significant run for the first time this year and played 88.5% of his snaps on the perimeter. (Cole mostly played slot for Jacksonville last year, but the Jets have two specialists in Berrios/Crowder).
Moore has played only 24.8% of his snaps in the slot. He may not be a slot specialist the way some wanted to pigeonhole him, but you'd think he would play inside a bit more than this, Berrios or no.
Davis is at 21.6% target share and 29.5% air-yard share. Solid, but maybe not good enough when the team is this bad. And he has just one more target than the aforementioned Berrios.
Anyone else looking for one more excuse to say 'Braxton Berrios'?

Hamler suffered an ACL tear in the first half. Spencer filled in as the No. 3 receiver but wasn't really needed with the Broncos sitting on a big lead.
- Hamler got just 10 targets this year, but six of those travelled 20-plus yards downfield (the same number Sutton has seen so far).
Small sample, but Sutton has 29.3% target share and 49.8% air-yard share in two games without Jeudy. His 17 targets easily lead the team, ahead of Fant (nine for 47 air yards) and Patrick (nine for 103 air yards).
Sutton was rested late in the fourth quarter Sunday. Prior to the fourth, he played 84.8% of Denver's offensive snaps.

There was one sign of trouble for Gronk, though he's already made good on ADP and does still look like one of the year's better steals. Anyway, he added seven targets and 55 yards on Sunday to boost his season totals to 20 and 184, respectively... but his snap share dropped to 62%, down from 88% and 81% the first two weeks.

Jackson took a few snaps from Jefferson, who had logged 92% in Week 2. Both contributed, but D-Jax obviously stole the show, making his case for more playing time going forward.
Higbee and Kupp lost some snaps at the very end. Prior to the fourth quarter, Kupp played 89.8% and Higbee took 81.6%.
Higbee has blocked on 12.1% of his pass snaps, down from 21.9% last season, per PFF. He still hasn't seen more than six targets in a game, but he's run a route on 79.3% of Matthew Stafford dropback.
Is Kupp really this much better than Woods? Maybe.

Dee Eskridge (concussion) didn't play, allowing Swain to play more than three-quarters of snaps for a second straight week. Swain finished with only 1-10-0 after putting up 5-95-1 the previous week, but he did take a carry for the third straight game.
The Seahawks ran only 52 plays, including 32 pass attempts from Russell Wilson.
The big day put Metcalf at 31.3% target share and 41.6 air-yard share for the season, slightly ahead of Lockett (25.0% TS, 38.3% AYS).
Lockett has taken only 26.2% of his snaps from the slot, way down from 52.4% last year. Accordingly, his aDOT is up at 14.6, akin to the pre-Metcalf years. Heck, that's even deeper than Metcalf's aDOT (12.7)... at least for now.
- Metcalf has taken 20.0% from the slot, up a bit from 16.6% last year.
Everett has run 66 routes on Russell Wilson's 90 dropbacks. The 70.2 percent rate is strong for a tight end, but Everett has been targeted on just nine of the 66 routes (13.6%). Even Sunday he was targeted on just 20.0% in his best game of the season so far.

Conklin has run 72 routes, t-11th among TEs. He's blocked on 16.5% of his pass snaps, per PFF. Given the role, he should see a handful of targets per week.

- Lazard now has five routes on 60 targets this season. His best contribution so far came Sunday night when 49ers DE Nick Bosa overran a counter by five yards because he was so in shock that the Packers would run the ball in his direction with Lazard blocking him. Bosa was absolutely LaFleurious afterward.
Valdes-Scantling and Marquise Brown are tied for the NFL lead with eight targets on passes 20-plus yards downfield. MVS has caught one, and Brown two. (Tyler Lockett and Brandin Cooks have the most catches, both going 4-for-7 so far, per PFF).

Aiyuk returned to a full-time role and put up 4-37-1 on six targets, adding one carry for eight yards and two punt returns for 23 yards. He also had a bad drop, but that wasn't a huge problem for him last season (five on 96 targets).
Aiyuk's return to full-time status didn't return Samuel to last year's unusual usage based largely on pseudo-running plays.
- Four of Samuel's 10 targets Sunday night travelled 10-plus yards beyond the line of scrimmage. He also had a drop, and the Packers did an excellent job limiting his YAC.
Kittle finally got going with 7-92-0 plus a carry for nine yards, though Samuel led the team in targets for a third straight week (12, 8, 10).

Schultz had a monster game, but not because he escaped the timeshare with Jarwin. The former has played 68%, 73% and 69% of snaps, with 15 targets on only 64 routes following the big MNF performance. Jarwin has five fewer targets (10) and five fewer routes (59), with potential to lose even more work after Schultz's big game.
Dak Prescott threw more passes Week 1 (58) than in Weeks 2 and 3 combined (53).
- That's the only problem for Lamb and Cooper right now, imo.

Reagor has seen five or more targets in each game and now sits at 20.2% share for the season. Granted, Smith is at 22.3%, and with a much deeper aDOT (14.9 to 9.3).
Bad gets worse for Dallas Goedert, who has now run a route on just 57.9% of Jalen Hurts dropbacks. The Eagles like Watkins, and Ertz. And both Reagor and Smith are full-time players. Am I overrating Goedert, or are the Eagles overrating some of their other guys?
- Either way, Goedert's route share and target share (11.7%) are pretty much worst-case scenario. He's droppable in shallow leagues.
