Closer Watch
Cleveland Indians – Cody Allen isn't a household name as far as saves go but the Indian's closer hasn't given up a run since June 21, while striking out 59 hitters in 45 innings overall this season. I'll take that any day on my roster even if the saves come in sporadically due to opportunites.
Toronto Blue Jays – I'm sure that Casey Janssen's job is safe, but it's worth noting that he's been hitting a rough patch of late where hitters are tagging him pretty hard. Over Janssen's last six appearances dating back to June 20, he has given up six runs in 5.1 innings pitched while only striking out two hitters in the process. The wacky thing about those appearances? Janssen has managed to lock down three saves in the process. Keep an eye on him and snag Aaron Loup if you're looking to protect Janssen.

Recommended Pickup
J.P. Arencibia, C/1B, TEX – I know what you're thinking. You think I'm overreacting to Arencibia's monster output on Tuesday against the Yankees where he went 4-for-5 with two homers and seven RBI on the night, right? Well, maybe a bit; however, the issue to consider here with Arencibia is that he has massive power potential even at the suffering of a consistent and steady batting average. He is also very streaky, which normally doesn't bode well for us fantasy owners who rely upon consistent production. Still, Arencibia is an intriguing pick-up since it seems the Rangers are intent on playing him every day as their first baseman for the remainder of the 2014 season. The added playing time, along with Arencibia's turnaround at AAA- Round Rock (.320/.542/.862, 14 HR, 31 R and 41 RBI in only 190 AB), makes him worth taking a chance on, even if it's just for the short term while you're waiting for your regular catcher or corner infielder to return from injury.
