Rest-of-Season Projections
Teagarden has been suspended 80 games for violating the Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program, Rich Dubroff of CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old appeared in only eight games with the Cubs last year and is currently without a team. It's entirely possible Teagarden has played his last game at the major league level, but he may be able to land a minor league depth role once the suspension is served. Teagarden was caught on camera discussing PED use in an infamous Al Jazeera report from earlier this year.

Teagarden has a career batting average of .202 in 510 at-bats, though he does have 21 home runs. The Cubs didn't have much use for him last year, as he spent most of the year with Triple-A Iowa, where hit .305. Then again, the minor league veteran has over 700 at-bats in Triple-A, a level he reached almost a decade ago. He elected free agency in November and will try to catch on with another team this spring, but his fantasy ceiling is a backup catcher who might hit a home run or two if he's forced into action.
