The 35-year-old pitcher has likely thrown his last major-league pitch. The Rangers used him last year for 12 starts to soak up innings and predictably declined his option this offseason. Fister can sponge up some work for a team looking for a veteran arm to help stall some talented rookie's service-time clock, but that is not a fantasy skill in any league. Fister's ability to create groundball outs is his last redeeming skill, but he has to walk an incredibly fine line because his fringy stuff gets crushed when he is not hitting his spots. Fister's future is likely overseas in 2019.
