Observations:
Gaston chose to walk Mark Teixeira and face A-Rod. Frasor ended up striking A-Rod out, but not before he threw a wild pitch that allowed Brett Gardner to score, tying the game 2-2, Derek Jeter to move up to 3rd base, and Teixeira to 2nd base.
The next batter was Robinson Cano and this time Gaston allowed Frasor to pick his poison... pitch to Cano or walk him and face Posada. Frasor chose to pitch to Cano and the result was a 2-run single. "I guess I choose wrong," said Frasor after the game.
Is this what you would have done?
Notables:
- Ubaldo Jimenez continued his Sherman March to the NL Cy Young against the Diamondbacks. He struck out 8 and gave up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 3 walks over 7 innings. He's now 11-1 and won't stop until he gets to Savannah.
- Tim Lincecum somewhat righted the ship against the Pirates. He struck out 6 and gave up 3 earned runs on 6 hits and 2 walks over 7 innings. He's now winless in his last 4 starts.
- Javier Vazquez struck out 9 Blue Jays batters and evened his record to 5-5. He gave up 2 earned runs on 1 hit and 4 walks over 7 innings.
- Brandon Morrow struck out 8 and walked 1 over 7 innings of 1 run ball against the Yankees in a no decision.

- Brett Myers pitched 6.2 innings of 2 run ball against the Cubs, in a win. He struck out 6 and walked 1, while giving up 8 hits. He's now 4-3 and sporting a 3.01 ERA. Trading Myers should be on the Astros to do list right now.
- John Lackey had a quality start against the Orioles. He went 7 innings and only gave up 2 earned runs. Of course he walked 3 batters and only struck out 2, but let's try to focus on the positive here.

Lineup-ology:
- Pablo Sandoval was back hitting out of the 3 spot. He batted 8th on Saturday.
- John Jaso hit lead-off for the Rays for a second consecutive day. They even have 3 catches on their active roster... the horror!

- Nate McLouth didn't start on Sunday due to an issue with his bat and it not working properly.
- Alex Avila should get more starts at catcher for the Tigers moving forward, according to Jim Leyland. Gerald Laird owners should take notice.

Young Money:
-The MLB 2010 First-Year Player Draft is Monday. Bryce Harper is expected to go #1 to the Nationals, after that it's anyone's guess.
- Michael Stanton will join the Marlins team in Philadelphia on Tuesday. Stanton and Strasburg on the same day?! I'm not sure the baseball world can handle this much hype.
- Brad Lincoln will supposedly make his MLB debut on Wednesday for the Pirates. This is how you nurse a Stanton/Strasburgh hangover.
