Rest-of-Season Projections
Not ruling out return to MLB
Rodney has not given up hope of pitching in the major leagues again, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodney will turn 47 in March and hasn't seen any action in the majors since 2019, so it would be the longest of long shots. The three-time All-Star has been pitching in the Mexican League and Dominican Winter League the last few years and says he wants to continue playing until he's 50.

Rodney has pitched in the major leagues since 2002, and now he finally has a World Series ring to show for a lengthy career full of highs and lows. His 2012 season remains one of the best seasons ever by a reliever, but 2019 was one of his worst. He was brutal for Oakland, but was at least serviceable enough for the Nationals to allow him to finish out the season. It is likely The Archer has shot his last imaginary bow from the mound, but good for him. He is only a season removed from fantasy relevance, but at 43 years old, there is no reason to give him one more chance on your roster.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Still drawing MLB interest
Four teams have reached out to Rodney since he became a free agent after the season, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports.
ANALYSIS
Set to turn 43 years old in March, Rodney proved he could still be a useful bullpen piece during Washington's run to its first World Series title this fall. After struggling early in the season with the Athletics and getting released in late May, Rodney received a chance with the Nationals a month later and proceeded to post a 4.05 ERA to go with 17 holds and 35 strikeouts over 33.1 innings. If he opts to continue playing, Rodney would likely have to settle for a minor-league deal or a one-year pact with little compensation.
