Given medical suspension
Gall has received an indefinite medical suspension from the New Jersey State Athletic Board pending clearance from a nephrologist, Nolan King of USA Today reports.
ANALYSIS
Given a nephrologist specializes in the care of kidneys, it's fair to assume the unspecified issue lies somewhere along those lines. Gall only absorbed seven significant strikes to the body in this one, but it only takes one to trigger an issue. After two years on the sidelines prior to this fight, Gall could be sidelined again until late-2024 depending on how his check-up goes. Given he's lost three in a row, however, another opportunity under the UFC banner isn't necessarily a given.

Gives all after two-year layoff
Gall lost to Bassil Hafez via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC 302 on Saturday in Newark.
ANALYSIS
It looked as though Gall wanted to settle into a striking match after so much time away from the cage, but Hafez refused to let that happen, as he pressured the 32-year-old and landed big shots. Gall adjusted and landed decent shots of his own, but it wasn't enough to carry the fight. Perhaps most concerning here is that Gall couldn't establish ground control, while Hafez ended the fight with peppering shots in top position. Gall came into the organization as a jiu-jitsu fighter, and while the desire to round out his game is commendable, he doesn't seem to possess any one skill that might set him apart from the bottom half of the division. Gall falls to 7-6 in professional MMA due to the loss.

UFC return scheduled
Gall is scheduled to compete against fellow welterweight Bassil Hafez at UFC 302 in Newark on June 1, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Should this fight go through, it will be Gall's first in two years. He decisively lost his last two fights, via decision against Alex Morono and via TKO against Mike Malott. However, Gall will give it another go, and there will be no better way for him to return than in his home state of New Jersey, where UFC 302 is scheduled to be held.

Struggles continue in Jacksonville
Gall lost to Mike Malott via TKO (punches) at 3:41 of Round 1 at UFC 273 on Saturday in Jacksonville.
ANALYSIS
Gall has had some rough performances during his time with the UFC, but this was perhaps the most concerning to date. He certainly looks more comfortable on the feet from an offensive standpoint than he did earlier in his career, but his stand-up defense remains a major issue. Gall displays shockingly little footwork and struggles to get his head off the center line. That leaves Mickey at serious risk of being suddenly finished, as he was in this one, even in a fight in which he appears to be holding his own. Sporting a 3-5 mark in his last eight fights, Gall is nothing more than roster depth despite the fact he is still just 30 years of age.

Booked for UFC 273
Gall will face Mike Malott in a welterweight matchup at UFC 273 on April 9, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Gall will attempt to bounce back after he lost to Alex Morono via unanimous decision at UFC Vegas 44 in early December. Malott earned a contract with the promotion in October when he defeated Shimon Smotritsky via submission (guillotine choke) at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Gall has an edge in height, but the two fighters are even in reach.
