Closer Watch

Blue Jays - Sergio Santos entered Friday's interleague game at Pittsburgh with a two-run lead as Toronto's closer, but quickly lost that role after blowing the lead and the game when he first gave up a game tying homer to Pedro Alvarez, and then a walkoff blast to Starling Marte. Aaron Loup will serve as the team's closer until Casey Janssen returns from the disabled list. Santos could have another chance to pick up more saves later this season, but that would only be under certain conditions starting with him pitching with more confidence.

Recommended Pickup

Garrett Jones, 1B, MIA - There isn't much exceptional about Jones' season line of .282 average, 5 HR, 14 R, and 15 RBI, but in a six game hitting streak starting April 25 to Friday Jones raised his average 60 points. In those six game Jones has a .500 average to go along with a 1.409 OPS and even tied a Marlins record with three doubles in Friday's game. Jones has to be one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now, and if your team is already stacked at 1B, then check to see Jones' OF eligibility because he manned 32 games in RF for the Pirates last year making him eligible in most leagues.

Other Recent Recommendations:Garrett Richards, Miguel Olivo, Scooter Gennett, Chris Denorfia, and Jon Niese
