Closer Watch
Colorado Rockies - John Axford closed the door on his 17th save of the season Thursday, working his way around a walk and a hit by striking out the side to close out the contest in a one-run game. The save comes on the heels of the Rockies decision to take Tommy Kahnle out of the closer role, opening up the duties to Axford once again. He took full advantage of his first save opportunity, but it could be a give and take situation given the hitter-friendly environment in Colorado.

Recommended Pickup
Derek Dietrich, OF, MIA - After starting the season at Triple-A New Orleans relatively well (.260/.357/.458 with seven home runs and 27 RBI in 56 games), Dietrich received a promotion to the Marlins in June, and has shown the versatility to play both the infield and outfield. Following injuries to both Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich, Dietrich moved mainly to the outfield, and he's flourished at the plate. The 26-year-old collected his ninth home run of the season Friday night as a replacement off the bench for Cole Gillespie, going 1-for-2 and bumping his batting line to .277/.381/.534 in 56 games with the club. He's certainly earned his playing time with the club, and should earn consideration in some fantasy leagues.
