Rest-of-Season Projections
Re-signs with Korean team
Choice re-signed with the Nexen Heroes of the Korean Baseball Organization on a one-year deal in November, TR Sullivan of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Choice, who last surfaced in the big leagues in 2015 with the Rangers, saw his career stateside stall out due to his poor contact rates, with the Orioles cutting him lose last May after he struggled with their Triple-A affiliate. He ultimately latched on in the KBO last July and enjoyed a productive stint with the Heroes, slashing .307/.390/.653 with 17 home runs and 42 RBI. The 28-year-old will head back to Korea in 2018 and could generate renewed interest from MLB teams with another strong showing abroad.

2011
Choice spent the season between the Rangers' and Indians' Triple-A affiliates, coming over to Cleveland in a late-season trade with Texas. He flopped badly in a major league audition in 2014, disappointed greatly in a repeat performance at Triple-A, hitting just .239/.308/.393 with 137 strikeouts in 509 plate appearances. He didn't open up any eyes in his new organization, hitting just .204/.306/.352 in 14 games at Triple-A Columbus following his trade. The Indians outrighted Choice in November, but extended him an invite to big-league camp for spring training. A lot would have to go wrong for Choice to have any sort of meaningful role with the Indians in 2016 as he looks to get back on track offensively at Triple-A and peel off the Quad-A label he's currently wearing.
