Closer Watch

Tampa Bay Rays – Brad Boxberger picked up his sixth save of the season Friday against the Orioles, striking out the side in the ninth. He's allowed just two runs over 10.1 innings this season. The situation should become interesting soon, with former closer Jake McGee (elbow) set to rejoin the club soon. Boxberger has been dominant to start the season, so it's possible he'll hang onto the closer's role when McGee rejoins the club, but the situation should work itself out over the next week or two.

New York Mets – Jeurys Familia locked down his tenth save of the season Friday, pitching 1.2 flawless innings with two strikeouts to secure it. Bobby Parnell (elbow) remains a ways from returning to the lineup, though given Familia's dominance in the role, it's unclear whether or not he will regain the role with the club. For now Familia continues to rack up saves while posting a 1.46 ERA and 0.57 WHIP with 15 strikeouts over 12.1 innings this season.

Recommended Pickup

Odubel Herrera, OF, PHI – Herrera – a Rule 5 draft pick out in the offseason out of the Rangers organization - turned a hot spring into a starting job with the Phillies, and nothing he's done so far warrants a removal. Through the first day of May, he owns a .299/.337/.414 batting line with eight RBI, 10 runs scored and four stolen bases. While he doesn't have the benefit of a great lineup around him, he's still managed produce. He doesn't possess much power, but remains a solid contact hitter with the ability to steal some bases. The youngster also provides the added boost of dual eligibility at either shortstop or second base in some formats.

Other Recent Recommendations:Kevin Pillar, Luis Valbuena, Jake Marisnick, Rafael Montero and Jimmy Paredes
