Vincent opened the season with the Giants, struggling to a 5.58 ERA in 30.2 innings before suffering a pectoral strain in late May that kept him sidelined for over two months. The Giants DFA'd and released him once he was healthy. Picked up by the Phillies, he joined his new team on the expanded September roster and looked quite good down the stretch, posting a 1.93 ERA and a 30.4% strikeout rate over 14.0 frames. The 33-year-old has been an effective but not elite reliever for most of his career, posting an ERA below 4.00 in each of his first seven seasons in the majors prior to last year. His strong September showing for the Phillies suggests that he's a good bet to be back at that level this year despite his age, though the chances of him pitching in the ninth inning are low.
