We've got games all day Sunday, stretching from 1:05 p.m. ET until the evening game between the Braves and the Mets. However, only 14 games are including for DFS purposes as Cleveland and Toronto have a doubleheader. Still, we have an abundance of options for our lineups.
PITCHING
Lucas Giolito, CWS vs. BAL ($10,000): Giolito has endured a couple poor starts this year, but has allowed only one run in four of his last five outings - including the last two. He's also striking out double-digit batters per nine innings for the third straight season. The Orioles rank in the bottom-10 in runs scored, so this will likely be one of Giolito's good starts.
Max Fried, ATL at NYM ($8,500): Speaking of pitchers who have looked better of late, Fried has overcome a slow start to allow only one run in his last four appearances. The Mets sit last in runs scored and have only managed a .224 average. They are also incredibly banged up right now, making the lineup less formidable.
Hyeon-Jong Yang, TEX at SEA ($5,700): If you want to save salary by focusing on matchup over a pitcher's numbers, Yang's your man. He sports a 5.47 ERA, but he's also facing a Mariners team with the league's worst average, OBP, and OPS. If Yang can give you five decent innings and pick up a win, he'll be a great value.
TOP TARGETS
Mark Canha, OAK vs. LAA ($3,900): In the last full MLB season, Canha hit 26 homers with a .913 OPS. This year, his OBP is at .395 and has produced 10 homers along with six steals. Meanwhile, Jose Quintana has a 7.92 ERA through eight starts and has allowed righties to hit .296 against him since 2019.
Aaron Judge, NYY at DET ($3,600): You know Judge's game. It's all about power. He's produced a career .560 slugging percentage with a .564 mark this year that includes 13 homers. Now Judge gets the chance to tee off on Tarik Skubal, who has allowed 2.64 home runs over nine innings over his career.
VALUE PLAYS
Andrew Vaughn, CWS vs. BAL ($2,500): Vaughn has not wowed as a rookie, but he entered the season as one of baseball's best hitting prospects. I still believe in that talent. Maybe he just needs more time against southpaws, as he has a 1.154 OPS versus lefties. Keegan Akin is a lefty, and also has a 6.10 ERA.
Salvador Perez, KC at MIN ($2,400): You don't need a cátcher for FanDuel, but that doesn't mean Perez doesn't look like a solid value. He's batted .277 with a .487 slugging percentage and has crushed 10 homers. Matt Shoemaker's first season with the Twins hasn't gone well with a 6.02 FIP and a 6.25 home ERA.
STACKS TO CONSIDER
Reds vs. Jake Arrieta: Nick Castellanos ($4,200), Jesse Winker ($4,100), Tyler Naquin ($2,800)
As he's gotten up there in years – professional athlete wise – Arrieta has become a decidedly-mediocre pitcher as he's posted a 4.67 ERA over the last three seasons. And since 2019, he's allowed lefties to hit .303 against. That's why I've picked two lefties here. Castellanos is a righty, but still well worth having in your lineup. After all, he's slashed .358/.416/.654 this season. Winker is a lefty and also maintains an incredible slash line of .349/.406/.640. Naquin isn't quite as good, but he's got a .787 OPS versus righties since 2019 and has hit 10 homers in 2021.
Cardinals vs. Riley Smith: Nolan Arenado ($3,600), Paul Goldschmidt ($3,100), Tyler O'Neill ($3,000)
It's almost June. The weather is warming up. That tends to lead to more offense in Arizona. Speaking of offense, Smith has a 6.00 ERA this year and a 7.00 mark at home. He's also allowed righties to hit .310 against him in his career, and these are three right-handed batters. Arenado has not been as reliant on Coors Field as you might think with an .845 OPS on the road since 2019 and a .935 OPS in away games this season. Goldschmidt is familiar with hitting in Arizona and also hit .304 last year while carrying a career .291 average. O'Neill doesn't walk, but he's still enjoying a breakout campaign with 11 homers, four steals, and a .628 slugging percentage.
