Drops decision in UFC debut
Polastri lost to Josefine Knutsson via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Making her UFC debut following a victory on Dana White's Contender Series last September, Polastri kept things close here on the strength of her grappling. She was hopelessly outclassed against Knutsson on the feet, but landed all three of her takedown attempts, one in each round. It wasn't enough to earn the win, but it was a perfectly reasonable showing from Polastri as a +165 underdog. The 26-year-old Brazilian will certainly get another shot with the company down the road.
