Taking on Maverick on July 20
Barbosa (7-2-0) was added to the card for the UFC's July 20 event in Las Vegas and will face Miranda Maverick (13-5) in a flyweight bout, Guilherme Cruz and Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com report.
ANALYSIS
The 32-year-old Brazilian will be replacing Tracy Cortez, who was originally slated to face Maverick but has instead been moved up to fight Rose Namajunas at UFC Denver on July 13. Barbosa will be taking a four-fight winning streak into her bout with Maverick.

Takes decision in UFC debut
Barbosa defeated Ernesta Kareckaite via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
This fight was essentially a two-parter, with Barbosa dominating the first half and Kareckaite in firm control the second half. The Brazilian should feel fortunate the three judges felt she did enough in the first seven-plus minutes to win. Barbosa was determined to use her grappling game, but she landed just 2-of-11 takedowns, including going 0-for-6 in Round 3. Set to turn 32 years of age next week and with just eight professional fights under her belt, Barbosa's ceiling would appear to be quite low despite the fact she emerged with the victory here.

ANALYSIS

Nets contract with slick submission
Barbosa defeated Rainn Guerrero via submission (armbar) at 4:35 of Round 1 at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. After the show, she was one of five fighters to be awarded an official UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Given Barbosa's prowess on the ground, it was a bit odd to see Guerrero willingly chase takedowns and grappling exchanges. While she held her own for as long as she could, a moment of overaggressiveness allowed "The WItch" to snatch the arm as the first frame was winding to a close. Flyweight is a division with its share of fun, tireless grapplers, so Barbosa should fit in nicely as she attempts to find her footing and claim status as a contender.
