The 21 Greatest Days of His Life:
- 14-year minor league veteran Max St. Pierre gets his first big league start behind the plate, and goes 1-for-4 for his first big league hit. No word yet on his feelings about a Constitutional amendment banning Astroturf and the designated hitter.
Cooperstown Says Hi:
- Jim Thome homers twice to pass Mark McGwire for ninth place on the all-time home run list.

- Austin Jackson went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and a home run.
- Josh Johnson struck out 12 Braves over six innings, allowing two runs on eight hits and three walks. It wasn't good enough: Jair Jurrjens tossed seven shutout frames, striking out seven, to get the win.
