Lockyer (chest) is looking ahead to playing next season in the Championship.

Lockyer is still eyeing to return at some point in the future despite there being doubt around the situation after he suffered cardiac arrest against Bournemouth on Dec. 16, with the defender stating while talking about playing again, "I would like that, but there's no way I'm going to go against any medical advice I receive, so it's way too early to put a timeframe on anything at the minute," per Mike Simmonds of Luton Today.

Lockyer is not ready to return to action following the health scare he suffered when collapsing on the pitch against Bournemouth on Dec. 16, but manager Rob Edwards offered a positive update regarding his recovery during the pre-match press conference before Sunday's match against Bolton. "He's improving. More tests and things to come in the coming weeks... He's doing well," Edwards said.

Lockyer (heart) was discharged from the hospital Wednesday and will begin a period of rehabilitation.

Lockyer was forced off in the second half of Saturday's match against Bournemouth with a serious injury after collapsing on the field.
