Charriere was originally supposed to face AJ Cunningham, who was forced to withdraw earlier this week for undisclosed reasons. He now draws an opponent in Miranda who will be over a year between fights following a March cancellation. Charriere, who fights at featherweight, will be giving up height and reach advantages to Miranda, a former lightweight fighter. He'll have the home crowd behind him fighting in his native France.

Charriere lost to Jose Mariscal via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This fight was close and no one would have batted an eye if Charriere had gotten the decision, although the 30-27 scorecard, the only one in his favor, is quite awful. Morgan appeared to drop Round 1 and win Round 2, making Round 3 the one that mattered. The final frame was close throughout, but Charriere really struggled in the final minute or so after getting caught in a difficult position on the mat and that allowed Mariscal to pull ahead for good. The positive news is that Morgan managed a couple takedowns and stuffed 7-of-8 attempts from his opponent, both strong signs from a guy known almost entirely for his striking.
