Runs winning streak to four
Klose defeated Joaquim Silva via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
Klose did just enough to win this fight and nearly blew it in Round 3. Entering as a -200 favorite, Drakkar used his strength and athleticism to pull ahead on the feet over the course of the first ten minutes. He led the dance and thrived as a result. Yet he was clearly exhausted entering the final frame, as he told his corner in between rounds, and that allowed Silva to threaten with a very deep guillotine choke that nearly closed the show before Klose popped his head out. Klose hasn't been matched up against high-end competition quite often, but he's now won four straight and seven of his last eight dating back to July 2018. His lone loss in that stretch came against Beneil Dariush, who is also the best opponent he faced during that time.

Set to fight Silva
Klose will fight Joaquim Silva at UFC 301 on May 4, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
In his first fight in over a year, Klose took down Joe Solecki in December to extend his winning streak to three. He'll carry the momentum advantage against Silva, who has alternated wins and losses across his last four fights.

Strong run continues
Klose defeated Joe Solecki via KO (slam) at 1:41 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Known much more for his striking than grappling, Klose found himself in immediate trouble after allowing a Solecki takedown just seconds after the opening bell rang. He was able to reverse the position, at which point Solecki attempted an arm bar, and Klose responded by picking him up and slamming him to the mat, knocking Joe out in the process and earning Drakkar an immediate victory. Credit Klose for figuring out a way to get the job done. The 35-year-old Michigan native hasn't fought much over the years, but when Klose has stepped into the Octagon, he's been terrific. Drakkar is 6-1 in his past seven bouts dating back to July 2018. This effort would go on to earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus, which was awarded to all finishers on the card.

Books new bout
Klose (undisclosed) will take on Joe Solecki at a UFC event on Dec. 2 at an undisclosed location, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Klose was forced to back out of his previous fight scheduled against Mark Madsen last October due to an undisclosed injury. This new bout indicates his health is finally back up to par. Prior to that, he had won back-to-back fight, bringing his UFC record up to 7-2. His opponent, Solecki, is coming off a victory over Carl Deaton.

Out of Madsen fight
Klose (undisclosed) is out of his scheduled Oct. 29 lightweight matchup against Mark Madsen, Raphael Marinho of Combate.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what forced Klose's withdrawal at this time, but the UFC has already booked a replacement fighter, lining up Grant Dawson to take his place. Klose had been ready for a step up on competition after winning five of his last six fights, but he'll now have to wait a bit to continue building that momentum.
