Silva lost to Drakkar Klose via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 301 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
It was a disappointing effort from Silva, who was really never able to get anything going until Klose tired out in Round 3. That said, the Brazilian still had a glorious chance to win this fight. He caught Klose in a deep guillotine and squeezed with all his might, only to have his opponent's head pop out at the last minute. From there, it was clear Silva wouldn't be taking the decision. Silva keeps himself in great shape, but he's now 35 years of age and hasn't won back-to-back fights in seven years. Expect him to hover around the .500 mark moving forward.

Gets right back in win column

Silva defeated Clay Guida via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Austin, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Silva had no chance in his most recent bout, a knockout loss to Arman Tsarukyan this past June, but he handled his business here against the veteran Guida. This was very much the tale of two fights. Silva got his striking going and looked comfortable in Rounds 1 and 3, while he gave up a pair of takedowns and found himself grounded much of Round 2. It was nice to see Joaquim finish strong given the fact Guida's cardio and energy are legendary. The Brazilian has alternated wins and losses in his past four fights. That's not going to get it done given the fact Silva will be 35 years of age next February.

Falls as massive underdog

Silva lost to Arman Tsarukyan via TKO (punches) at 3:25 of Round 3 at UFC on ESPN 47 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Silva lasted until Round 3, which is all you can possibly ask for considering he entered as a +675 underdog and has a single win dating back to December 2018. Silva actually had Tsarukyan in trouble on the feet midway through Round 2, but the Brazilian was eventually forced to his back and never threatened the heavy favorite the rest of the way. Silva began his professional career with ten straight wins, including his first two bouts with the UFC, but he's loss four of six since, including three of his last four via knockout. Now 34 years old, time is running out on "Netto BJJ."
Tough matchup on tap

Silva will face Arman Tsarukyan at the UFC event on June 17, Brett Okamoto of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Silva will be an extreme underdog in this matchup having won just one fight with the promotion since 2018. That came last October against Jesse Ronson. Tsarukyan is ranked No. 8 among the 155 pound division.
