Fighting Tsarukyan at UFC Austin
Dariush will fight Arman Tsarukyan at UFC Austin on Dec. 2.
ANALYSIS
A loss to Charles Oliveira in his last fight broke a streak of eight consecutive victories for Dariush. He'll look to get back in the win column against an opponent who has won seven of his last eight bouts.

Suffers crushing UFC 289 defeat
Dariush lost to Charles Oliveira via TKO (punches) at 4:10 of Round 1 at UFC 289 on Saturday in Vancouver.
ANALYSIS
This sport can be cruel. After begging for (and deserving) a well-known and highly-rated opponent for seemingly years, Dariush -- who entered having won eight straight -- finally got his opportunity here, and he was finished in less than a round. The most crushing part of it all is that Beneil was in the driver's seat for nearly the entire round, controlling Charles from top position. Yet, once they got back to the feet, he was crushed, knocked down and eventually finished. It's far from a stretch to call this a career-altering moment for Dariush. He probably would have gotten a title shot with a win. Now, at age 35, he has a long, long road to climb to get back in championship contention. Cruel, indeed.

Oliveira fight targeted for 289
Dariush is expected to fight Charles Oliveira in a lightweight bout at UFC 289 on June 10 in Vancouver, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Previously scheduled for UFC 288 before Oliveira withdrew with an undisclosed injury, a Dariush-Oliveira fight could possibly serve as the co-main for UFC 289 instead. For taking the re-scheduled fight, Dariush will receive a pay bump and challenge lightweight champion Islam Makhachev next should Oliveira withdraw again.

Fight postponed
Dariush will no longer face off with Charles Oliveira at UFC 288, Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN reports.
ANALYSIS
The bout has been called off due to an undisclosed injury suffered by Oliveira. The two fighters have reportedly started working on an alternate date for the fight.

Taking on Oliveira
Dariush is set to face off with Charles Oliveira in a lightweight bout, at a UFC event on May 6, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Dariush, who most recently took down Mateusz Gamrot at UFC 280, will look to win his ninth-consecutive fight when he squares off with Charles Oliveira in May. The 33-year-old American fighter, who currently boasts a UFC record of 16-4-1 will likely get a shot to take the Lightweight Title from Islam Makhachev if he is victorious over Oliveira.
