Shines in Paris main event
Moicano defeated Benoit Saint-Denis via TKO (doctor stoppage) at 5:00 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
With all due respect to Jalin Turner, Drew Dober, and Brad Riddell, this type of dominant performance against a high-end opponent in a hostile environment is going to be the one to put Moicano firmly on the map as a contender at 155 pounds. Renato bullied Saint-Denis to the mat moments after the opening bell rang and spent the entirety of Round 1 pounding his opponent. Moicano seemed to take Round 2 off, perhaps recognizing Saint-Denis was in dire peril and not wanting to make a mistake. Sure enough, the doctor checked out BSD's wounds after the frame ended and pulled the plug. It was a vicious and efficient beating on all fronts. Perhaps best of all, Moicano took nearly zero damage in return. He should be ready to return in short order as the Brazilian continues his push up the lightweight rankings.

Paris fight confirmed
Moicano will fight against Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC Paris on September 28, Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The French lightweight will look to stay undefeated in 2024 and expand his overall winning streak to four after defeating Drew Dober (unanimous decision) in February and Jalin Turner (TKO) in April. Moicano takes on Saint-Denis, who is 5-2 though his most recent fight ended in a knockout by Dustin Poirier in March.

Runs winning streak to three
Moicano defeated Jalin Turner via TKO (punches) at 4:11 of Round 2 at UFC 300 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was far from a flawless performance from Moicano, and he was most definitely aided by some foolishness from Turner, but the bottom line is he cashed a as +200 underdog. We've seen repeatedly that the way to attack Turner is via the takedown. Moicano landed one in each round, but Jalin worked his way back to his feet in the opening frame before blasting Renato with a left hook. Yet, for some reason, Turner didn't follow up after flooring his opposition, and Moicano survived to the end of the round. He planted Turner on his back again early in Round 2 and eventually earned the stoppage. Set to turn 35 years of age in late-May, Moicano has won three straight and five of his last six.

Will take on Jalin Turner
Moicano is set to face Jalin Turner in a three-round lightweight bout at UFC 300 on April 13.
ANALYSIS
Moicano has yet to secure a knockout win in his career, which puts a huge question mark on how he'll fare against tougher competition. However, he has relied heavily on his grappling game, allowing him to win four of his last five fights. Moicano will look to extend that run against an opponent that has dropped two of his last three fights.

Strong run continues
Moicano defeated Drew Dober via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Moicano performed well to pick up the victory, but his post-fight interview was epic. Seriously, look it up. As for his efforts inside the Octagon, Renato wisely leaned on his grappling game. He turned three successful takedowns into 10:33 worth of control time. The end result was a 142-36 edge for Moicano in terms of total strikes landed, although the significant strikes were 23 apiece. The Brazilian did just enough on the mat to ensure referee Mark Smith wouldn't stand the two up despited repeated warnings for more action. It's hard to bet on Moicano long-term simply because he doesn't have a single knockout victory in his professional career, and it's difficult to hang with better competition if you can't threaten them on the feet, but his grappling skills are excellent, and that has allowed Renato to win four of his last five fights.
