2024 Fantasy Outlook
Hubbard did the improbable and sent Miles Sanders to the bench last year even after Carolina gave the former Eagle a four-year, $25.4 million contract. Hubbard didn't exactly set the league on fire, averaging 3.8 yards per carry, but he was mostly impressive when you factor in how bad the Panthers offense was. Even with his 2023 accomplishments noted, Hubbard's fantasy value took a major hit when the Panthers made Jonathon Brooks (knee) the first running back selected in the 2024 Draft. The Panthers took Brooks at No. 46 overall with the intention of making him their starting running back at some point, though not necessarily right away as he completes his rehab from an ACL tear suffered in November. While solid as a runner, Hubbard is particularly vulnerable to Brooks on passing downs. Hubbard has improved his pass catching considerably since dropping seven of 37 targets as a rookie, but it's still a relative weakness for him and a strength for the incoming rookie. RANKS
Massive workload in OT win
Hubbard rushed 28 times for 153 yards and a touchdown and brought in four of six targets for 16 yards in the Panthers' 20-17 overtime win over the Giants in Munich on Sunday. He also lost a fumble.
ANALYSIS
Fresh off inking a four-year extension Thursday, Hubbard wasted no time earning his keep with career highs in rush attempts and rushing yards. Hubbard also recorded his sixth rushing touchdown of the season on a one-yard run late in the third quarter, and he was able to work through an injury scare without missing any time after limping off the field following a lost fumble in Carolina territory just before the midway point of the fourth quarter. Hubbard now has three 100-yard games on the season and will have a Week 11 bye to rest up before a Week 12 home showdown with the Chiefs on Sunday, Nov. 24.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
2021
Hubbard teamed with D'Onta Foreman to handle the rushing attack for the Panthers after Christian McCaffrey was traded last year. Following a midseason ankle injury, Hubbard totaled 490 yards in the last six games and averaged 5.0 yards per rush. Foreman is gone, but the signing of Miles Sanders to a four-year, $25.4 million contract makes certain that Hubbard won't be Carolina's starting running back in his third NFL season. However, the 2021 fourth-round pick might have an advantage over Sanders when it comes to pass catching -- a task Sanders struggled with in Philadelphia after his 2019 rookie season. Neither player is as good a receiver as likely RB3 Raheem Blackshear, but Hubbard at least improved last year, generating 1.66 yards per route run (89th percentile).

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not likely to be moved
Teams have shown interest in acquiring Hubbard, but the Panthers are unlikely to trade him, Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Hubbard has served as the lead back for the Panthers in 2024 and has been one of the few bright spots in the offense, topping 100 scrimmage yards on three occasions while tallying four total touchdowns. The report that the team isn't open to trading him is a bit surprising, as he's set to enter free agency at the close of the season. In addition, Carolina has rookie running back Jonathon Brooks waiting to take over the backfield once he's ready to make his NFL debut after fully recovering from knee surgery, which would seemingly makes Hubbard expendable.
