Not that the time ever stopped—lockout or not—but with actual football on the horizon, it's time to really focus in on fantasy draft season. Or as it is known by its real-world alias, the preseason. In preparation I've begun the process of building my draft board with my favorite position—running backs. Sticking to what I know and love best, I've ranked the top 101 running backs specifically for keeper leagues. All this means for those of you that prefer standard play is that you can bump up some of the old folks and move back some young guys that either haven't done anything or are not in an ideal situation to get field time.

That said, the following is the order I would draft running backs if I started a new keeper league this season, based on current rosters. This ranking will be updated in August to reflect free agent moves and early preseason play.
