Rest-of-Season Projections
Activated from DL and outrighted
O'Grady (shoulder) was reinstated from the 60-day DL and outrighted to Triple-A New Orleans on Friday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.
ANALYSIS
O'Grady was removed from the 40-man roster in order to make room for some of the younger prospects in the club's system. The left-hander missed a majority of the 2018 season after suffering a left shoulder sprain in April.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
O'Grady reached the majors for the first time in 2017, recording a 4.36 ERA over six starts and seven relief appearances. He posted solid but unspectacular numbers at Triple-A New Orleans, with a 3.29 ERA in 54.2 innings, backed up by fairly strong strikeout (24.8 percent) and walk (6.9 percent) rates. For this Marlins team, "solid but unspectacular" should be more than enough to earn a roster spot, and O'Grady is likely to open up in the team's bullpen. With Miami's best lefty reliever from 2017 (Jarlin Garcia) transitioning to a starting role, O'Grady could be the team's top left-hander. A steady role would be enough to give the 27-year-old some appeal in very deep leagues, but he's unlikely to be in the closer picture and isn't the sort of reliever to provide significant ratio help.
