Closer Watch

Marlins - Mike Dunn had to clean up Steve Cishek's mess Sunday, getting the final out successfully for his first save of the year. Cishek's still going to keep this job for the most part, but don't be surprised to see Dunn grab a lefty-heavy ninth here and there.

Reds - Aroldis Chapman blew a save Thursday, and then blew another one Sunday, possibly because of delicious pastries. Things were back on track Monday against the Mets' Triple-A lineup (sigh), as he nailed 'em down in order with two strikeouts for his ninth save. Guess he laid off the pastries.

Jake Odorizzi, SP, TB - Odorizzi had a solid, if unspectacular debut Monday, giving up three runs in five innings, but his six strikeouts against one walk point to deserving better results. He had an impressive 47:15 K:BB over 44.2 innings in Triple-A this year, though he's been prone to the long ball, surrendering seven. But Odorizzi kept it in the park Monday and he should benefit from the always-solid Rays defense and homer-suppressing Tropicana Field, making him a quality play while David Price is out. And considering how poorly Roberto Hernandez has pitched, Odorizzi has a very real opportunity to pitch his way into the rotation permanently.
