Closer Watch

Rays -- With Jake McGee on the road to recovery, Brad Boxberger's time in the closer's role could be limited. McGee's expected back at the start of May; meanwhile, Boxberger has converted all four of his chances with eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings, but he's also shown some control issues at times.

Athletics -- Tyler Clippard finally earned his first save of the year Monday, working around two walks to preserve a one-run lead. It'd be nice for his owners if the A's could win some more close games so he can establish himself as the closer even when Sean Doolittle (shoulder) returns to health.

Tigers -- Joakim Soria converted his fifth save Monday against the Yankees, and although Joe Nathan's on his way back in a little bit, it wouldn't at all be surprising if the Tigers stuck with Soria for the duration of the year. With just two base runners and one run allowed in 5.2 innings so far this year, he's been masterful in the role.

Recommended Pickup
Carlos Rodon, SP, CHW – The White Sox have called Rodon up to pitch out of the bullpen right now, but that could be a very short-term assignment for last year's No. 3 draft pick. With the likes of John Danks and Hector Noesi currently occupying rotation spots for the South Siders, Rodon's got a ready-made path to plenty of starts. Another poor outing by Noesi on Tuesday could mean that Rodon slides into the rotation as early as this weekend. Rodon was dominant this spring and got off to a nice start in Triple-A Charlotte, striking out 13 in 10 innings with a 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. He should be an instant-impact sort of guy.

Other Recent Recommendations:Anthony DeSclafani, Everth Cabrera, Devon Travis, Mike Moustakas, Kendrys Morales

DraftKings Value Picks

SP: Tommy Milone, MIN ($5,800)
C: Stephen Vogt, OAK ($3,600)
1B: Lucas Duda, NYM ($3,600)
2B: Dustin Pedroia, BOS ($3,800)
3B: Kris Bryant, CHC ($4,200)
SS: Starlin Castro, CHC ($3,700)
OF: Ben Revere, PHI ($3,700)
