Closer Watch

Giants - Jean Machi recorded his second save the season Friday when he record the final five outs in perfect fashion. Machi got the first batter he faced in the eighth inning to hit into a double play to end the inning, and then was called to the mound again in the ninth for a rare four-run lead save. Sergio Romo is the Giants normal closer, but his last outing was also his second blown save, so maybe Bruce Bochi wanted to see if Machi had the stuff to possibly take over the closers role if needed in the future. Romo should get the next chance to take the bump with a save on the line, but Machi has only allowed one run over 24.1 innings which makes him a great second choice.

Recommended Pickup

Lonnie Chisenhall, 3B, CLE - In a seven game hitting streak from Sunday-Saturday Chisenhall has five multi-hit games with two home runs, five doubles, five RBIs, and six runs making him one of the hottest hitters in the game right now. In 36 games so far in 2014 Chisenhall has a .381 average, .444 OBP, and 1.006 OPS, so it makes it hard to believe that the Indians left-handed bat is available in so many leagues. Third base definitely is one of the more stacked positions in the fantasy baseball world, but Chisenhall has been hitting so well that he should be scooped up off the waiver wire by any team that sees him available, even if it's just so your competition doesn't.

Other Recent Recommendations:Jimmy Nelson, Seth Smith, Kole Calhoun, Stephen Drew, and Rickie Weeks
