Closer Watch
Rangers - With a four run lead Saturday against the Twins Ron Washington didn't go with his closer, and paid the price for it. Joe Ortiz put two men on while only recording one out before Joe Nathan was called to the mound. The Rangers closer gave up a three-run homer to Oswaldo Arcia, but was able to gather his composure to record the final two outs for his eighth save of the season.
Tigers - There is no doubt that Jose Valverde is the man for the Tigers in the ninth inning. Saturday's perfect ninth was Papa Grande's second save in his second appearance since rejoining the Tigers. The Tigers were desperate for some stability in the closer's position, and it looks like Valverde has given it to them, for now.

Kevin Correia, SP, MIN - Any starting pitcher that can give his team seven or more innings while allowing three or less runs gives his chance to win every time he steps on the bump, and that is exactly was Correia has given the Twins in his first four starts with his new team. Correia isn't the sexiest pitcher as he only has 13 strikeouts over his 28.1 innings pitched, but his 2.86 ERA and 1.13 WHIP are definitely noteworthy. Correia has adjusted to life in the American League quite well, but it may not be long before the batters in his new league catch on to what he's throwing, but as long as he is pitching as well as he has fantasy owners should keep eye on his progress.
