Fantasy Premier League Rankings: Gameweek 35

This article is part of our Fantasy Premier League Rankings series.

The much-anticipated Gameweek 35 is finally here, as those who have been painstakingly planning their transfers and praying to the fantasy gods that their players don't get hurt will finally be able to unleash their beasts. With Manchester City, Tottenham, Manchester United, Arsenal, Wolverhampton, Watford, Southampton and Brighton each playing twice, fantasy scores figure to be very high. As a reminder, if you held off on your wildcard and plan to use it now, you won't be able to triple captain anyone or use your bench boost or free hit, and because we're so late in the season, there are no more double gameweeks for those chips.

For those ready to use their wildcard, it may not be as easy as "get every double gameweek player you can" because the matchups aren't perfect. Manchester City play twice, but they host Tottenham in the early Saturday match after hosting them in the Champions League on Wednesday, and then they have the Manchester derby next Wednesday. It's an easier road for Spurs and Manchester United, with the former hosting Brighton after the first match of Gameweek 35 while the latter travel to face Everton on Sunday before their big derby. Arsenal have an easier path, hosting Crystal Palace and then traveling to Wolverhampton, but landing on the right Arsenal attackers is never an easy task. Wolves have a prime matchup at home against Brighton on Saturday before that Arsenal match, one they could certainly get a result in. Watford may be just as easy, with a trip to face already-relegated Huddersfield and then hosting Southampton, with the Saints traveling to Newcastle before their trip to Watford. So, yes, you can load up on double gameweek players, but it may actually be more beneficial to focus on Watford and Wolves than Manchester City and Manchester United. Sounds weird, right?

In terms of single gameweek players, Liverpool travel to Cardiff and Chelsea host Burnley, which will make fantasy players decide whether it's worth paying up for one good opportunity for guys like Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Eden Hazard or save money and get two games from players like Gerard Deulofeu, Raul Jimenez, Danny Ings or Glenn Murray. It's hardly an easy decision, and picking a captain is included in that because that the congested fixture list could have guys like Sergio Aguero, Paul Pogba and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang possibly getting just one start.
