New opponent lined up
Fairn will now face Jacqueline Cavalcanti in a presumed bantamweight matchup at UFC Paris on September 2, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a relatively quick turnaround for Fairn, who was initially set to face Hailey Cowan at the event, but Cowan withdrew on August 18 for undisclosed reasons. In steps Calvacanti, a 25-year-old prospect out of Portugal with a 5-1-0 professional MMA record. This is as close to must-win territory as it gets for a UFC fighter, as Fairn has dropped three consecutive fights dating back to 2019. WIth the women's featherweight division on the fritz, she'll need to force the hand of UFC brass if she wants to stick around with the company.

Scheduled to fight Cowan
Fairn is scheduled to fight Hailey Cowan in a bantamweight bout at UFC Paris on Sept. 2, according to Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
With the women's featherweight division expected to be defunct following ex-champion Amanda Nunes' retirement, Fairn will go down a weight for her next fight. Perhaps it is for the best though, as she lost all three of her UFC featherweight fights. At bantamweight, Fairn will have to start from scratch. It shows in this next fight, as she is facing a 7-3 opponent that lost her previous contest after missing weight.

Still searching for first UFC win
Fairn lost to Josiane Nunes via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 283 on Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
ANALYSIS
All things considered, Fairn performed reasonably well as a +420 underdog. She started quickly, using her massive height advantage to pick apart the aggressive Nunes in the opening round before fading as the fight progressed. Fairn finished the bout with a 122-107 edge in total strikes landed, but it wasn't enough to secure the decision. 36 years of age and a loss in each of her first three UFC bouts, the odds are strongly against Fairn earning a fourth opportunity with the company.

Expected to fight at UFC 283
Fair (undisclosed) is expected to take on Josiane Nunes at UFC 283 on Jan. 21, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This fight was supposed to take place back in April of 2021, but it was removed from the card after Fairn missed weight by eight pounds. Fairn holds a 6-4 record, but has not been in the Octagon since February of 2020.

Forced out of Sept. 3 bout
Fairn will no longer fight Ailin Perez at a UFC event on Sept. 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Fairn had lost her two previous UFC fights prior to being forced out. It is unclear what forced Fairn out of the fight, though the bantamweight fighter will be replaced by Stephanie Egger.
