ANALYSIS
Up next for Brown is one of the UFC's most tenured featherweights. Elkins has spent more than 70 percent of his MMA career with the UFC, going 17-10. Brown will try to redeem himself after getting submitted by Bill Algeo earlier this year at UFC on ESPN 44.

Submits following quick start
Brown lost to Bill Algeo via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:40 of Round 2 at UFC on ESPN 44 on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
It was a tale of two fights for Brown. Although he absorbed his fair share of damage, he was the better man in a back-and-forth opening frame. Brown even appeared to be in decent shape early in Round 2 before getting clipped with an elbow which sent him to the mat. He ate some additional shots from Algeo on the mat before giving up his back and being choked out in an instant. Set to turn 33 years of age in late May, Brown's 3-4 record in his first seven UFC bouts is underwhelming. He has more ability than that mark would lead you to believe, but "Downtown" is running out of time to make an impact at 145 pounds. On the bright side, he'll walk away with an extra $50,000 after this back-and-forth affair was awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Fighting Bill Algeo in April
Brown agreed to face Bill Algeo in a featherweight bout at UFC's April 15 event, Mike Heck of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Brown last entered the Octagon in December and defeated Erik Silva to bring his UFC record to 3-3. Algeo suffered a broken right arm during his split-decision loss to Andre Fili in September, with the defeat ending a two-fight winning streak.

Submission win at UFC 282
Brown defeated Erik Silva via submission (arm-triangle choke) at 3:41 of Round 3 at UFC 282 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It ended up being a lopsided win for Brown in what was a pick 'em fight. The only negative aspect of TJ's performance was the fact he allowed the debuting Silva to land 3-of-4 takedown attempts. Of course, Brown still managed to rack up nearly two full rounds (9:43) worth of control time regardless of his struggles to remain upright. Brown lacks elite athleticism and the power in his hands is limited, but he has a bunch of experience and isn't going to beat himself inside the Octagon. TJ improves his UFC record to .500 (3-3) with the victory. He'll also take home an extra $50,000 after everyone to record a finish at UFC 282 was awarded Performance of the Night honors.
