Can't defend takedown in debut loss
FlyweightUFC
November 23, 2024
Tumendemberel lost to Carlos Hernandez via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Macau, China.
ANALYSIS
Originally scheduled to make his UFC debut in May, Tumendemberel finally got his chance here and put forth a credible showing in a fight which could have gone either way. Tumendemberel appeared to have a significant power edge on the feet and was also responsible for the biggest blows of the fight with a Round 1 knockdown, but he also allowed four takedowns and was credited with just 26 significant strikes landed over the course of the 15-minute bout. That type of low volume will get you every single time in a fight which could go either way. Tumendemberel will try for his first UFC win his next time out.
