McGregor fight canceled
Chandler will no longer fight Conor McGregor on June 29 at UFC 303, according to UFC President Dana White.
ANALYSIS
McGregor pulled out of UFC 303 with an undisclosed injury, now leaving Chandler no one to fight in Las Vegas. Unless a big name steps up last minute, the latter will not compete in that late-June event. In place of McGregor-Chandler as 303's main event is Alex Pereira against Jiri Prochazka for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.

McGregor welterweight fight done
UFC CEO Dana White has confirmed a welterweight fight between Chandler and Conor McGregor for UFC 303 in Las Vegas on June 29, per Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com.
ANALYSIS
Chandler has longed to fight McGregor, and he will get his demand, but with a caveat. Dana White said the bout is at 170 pounds, meaning the longtime lightweight will have to move up a division for the first time since the early-2010s, when he was employed by Bellator. Both fighters are coming off losses to Dustin Poirier and more than a year off. For the 36-year-old Chandler, who will be competing at 37, he will look to boost his UFC stock and overall image with a win over the promotion's most recognizable fighter.

Matched with McGregor in TUF
Chandler will coach this season's TUF against Conor (leg), with the pair set to square off at the end of the season, Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie reports.
ANALYSIS
Both fighters' latest fights were losses to Dustin Poirier, with Chandler's coming in November of 2022 and McGregor's coming in July of 2021. McGregor required surgery on his left leg after that fight and subsequently dropped out of the USADA testing pool. Per Damon Martin of MMAFighting.com, he's yet to re-enter, so the fight won't be able to take place until he's back in the pool for at least six months.

Falls short in memorable scrap
Chandler lost to Dustin Poirier via submission (Rear-naked choke) at 2:00 of Round 3 at UFC 281 on Saturday in New York.
ANALYSIS
Chandler brought his usual explosive offensive style to this one, but simply wasn't composed enough when he hurt Dustin, while Poirier regained his composure and mounted his own offense. A grappling attack easily netted "Iron" Round 2, but a failed scramble in the final frame led to "Diamond" synching a body triangle and locking in a choke. Chandler has said time and again that he wants his fights to be exciting, and while this is undoubtedly the case, he is now 2-3 in the Octagon, having taken hellacious damage in all of those defeats. Chandler will always be top-draw material, but it's hard to see title contention in his future at this rate. He falls to 23-8-0 in professional MMA as a result of the loss. While it's back to the drawing board, he'll at least get some consolation in the form of a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus.
